Aye so would I if it was guaranteed to happen but knowing our luck we will wait months and it will all fall through anyway. Sorry just my pessimistic outlook after 30 years of supporting Sunderland.

Why vilify Phil, then? He's raising a valid point and I can understand his annoyance. Rightly or wrongly Reiver has led a lot of people on and I'm surprised he's not getting more backlash to be honest. I can remember a similar blind clamour to believe Dennis Longhorn at one time and it turned out he was full of shit.

Don't think Reiver as led people on, he's just given out the info he's been told.
If anything it's Reiver whose been led on.

Because there has to be an understanding that he's been told information from people he trusts and he has relayed that information. He hasn't tried to lead anyone on or pull the wool over people's eyes. Believe me he isn't that type of bloke. Oh and BTW Longhorn genuinely was ITK.

He didn’t start the rumour, someone else started the thread. Then someone at the club leaked to ALS and RR that a deal was less than a fortnight away on the 22nd of August. Then ALS and RR simultaneously started posting cryptic USA tweets on the 12th of September. Then ALS started printing SunDELLand t shirts. Then RR did a podcast where the opening sentence was “Michael Dell and partners have taken over the club”.

But aye it’s all because Reiver posted something on a 1500 page thread on here.
