Surely that means they are far more incentivized to play well and earn better contracts elsewhere or at all.
Of course they are. If they win us promotion and we part company with some at the end of season those players will be in demand having played in a promotion winning side. If we are not promoted and part company with them next summer they won't have as much going for them employment wise . They would just be unwanted League One players

They have every reason to play well a couple might even fancy their chances at being retained and getting to the Championship.

Why would he do that? That makes no sense.

because there are real buyers in town - Mike Ashley ahs a shot load of costs to get NUFC set up to our standard. Still, we are the bargain club at the moment so nowt to see here I suspect. Peter Beardsley has cost NUFC with the inevitable court cases, not to mention the complete lack of youth players coming off the production line for some reason.

I don't see anything wrong with someone querying or challenging the validity of a fact or opinion. In my opinion, the thread should not just be about accepting crumbs/scraps and giving likes.

Like most other people, I am anxious for the info but do take it with a pinch of salt.
Totally agree, nothing wrong with putting forward constructive criticism or challenging people’s posts, but whenever someone provides a bit of information/updates in good faith, you can guarantee which people are going to come along and ridicule it simply to be provocative. If they disagree with the poster, at least give a reason to back up their argument.

Do the other shareholders?

it doesn't matter. Madrox owns 100% of Sunderland, and Donald owns 74% of Madrox. The shares in Sunderland are an asset of the club, and can be sold on the passing of a simple resolution by the shareholders. All that needs is a simple majority in terms of shares owned. If FPP are buying Madrox, it's even easier. If Donald agrees to sell more than 50% of the shares in Madrox to them, that's it. They have control.

the reality is, him and the likes of Reiver have absolutely no idea whats going on

how could they?

Wish people would stop taking the word of posters on a message board as gospel like
The reality is you have no idea what reiver is being told or not, how could you.
Wish people would stop attacking posters on a message board when they are trying to have a bit of positivity

Yeah but the claim is that they already looked at Newcastle. Them looking at us instead after pulling out of that deal isn't going to be a driving factor for him to drop the price.

expect your right - I would hope this goes through this week - this is what happens when the cake is brought out the over before it's ready.

Don't mean to be critical of you as I don't think you're being cynical like some who take this view would....but....i think it's great example of how much our support has taken them for granted.

They have done way more for the club than any body tasked with the administration scenario would. They've made a real effort to connect fans with the club and build.a community. They've improved the matches experience massively. Even as an overseas fan I know they care about me because they provide streams whereas the last twat who owned us couldn't be bothered.

I can't believe how lightly Short gets off in comparison to these two and have no idea why it happens.
I am not a cynical fella nelson i just like to play devils advocate and look at the merits of arguments on both sides, its the way i look at every aspect of my life!I see how don and co have connected with the fans on a level far greater than any before and thats great but you then realisse thats what they are used to at eastleigh ,where the revenue comes only from the fans, keeping them on side is ownership 101 and they are very good at it!

On the financial side they have stripped the club of all non valuable functional assests and are running the club with a skeleton crew of coaches ,scouts, with the ethos of cost cutting everywhere which has effected the function of the club and is having a knock on effect on the pitch!Others will say great job this was the only way forward !

I personally think they have done a terrible job on the footballing side especialy in recruitment of some pretty poor players none of which have any pace, some of this might be down to money but mostly its down to poor choice of players .......other teams in league one appear to be ably to attract pacy forwards who know where the goal is on a pittance why cannot we?Why havent we been able to get some loans from premiership teams ?and that must be down to money?

We are treading water as a football club at the moment and the lack of financial backing for the manager i would have thought has come from the impending takeover, that appears to have been hovering over us for months and a i dare not think what will happen to us if it does not go through as while i agree with you about the don and co's friendly to fans approach but i fear a financial abyss is looming that the don cannot cope with without investment.(hence the chapman saga,).............interesting times ahead me thinks !

Could be if he's had enough....never say never, we're only 99%

Its absolutely scandalous Ross is still in the job.

Takeover or not Donald needs to grow a f***ing backbone sharpish

Ross futures hangs on three thing IMHO

then next two games ( mk dons could be high stakes high pressure)
and/or wether the is a suitable replacement willing to work under club constraints (FFP seems to be biggest)
and/or whether the new owners are willing to give Ross time

there might be another dimension... whether Ross wants to stay... he bailed out before as a player (citing homesickness IIRC)

Far from it. Donald knows they walked away when Mike played silly buggers. He won't want that happening, because if it falls through now the backlash will be huge.
What form with this backlash take GOM?We are an old pussy cat that has been starved, maltreated ,and ignored for years, that still turns up at the window purring to be in when the master calls!what more can they do to us to deter a significant number of us turning up to games and buying merchandise !..........another note the deal is 99% done you say i thought it was signed weeks ago?Any more info from reiver? pm wold be nice!;)
Still confident itwill go through, but you wouldn't be human or a sunderland fan if you weren't edgy a little bit

really hope its delayed as yanks just doing their job and going over with a fine tooth comb

not donald and his mates getting greedy

Its taking a while like, despite what people say
What do you base this confidence of yours on ?Facts? feellings? ITK?
