Ross - Defense is better than last year

You cant organise a defence Jack, that much is clear.
Organising a team seems difficult. Overload midfield if we're slow and not mobile enough there. Overload defence in an effort to concede less. In all circumstances retreat and invite the opposition to get a foothold in the game. Creating very few chances not being seen as a negative.

Start by defending further up the pitch Jack! Sort out the passing and movememt, get players into space, stop hoofing it and keep the f***ing ball. Any defence would struggle sitting the edge of their own box for between 70 and 90 minutes every week.. for fuck sake!

This 100% but its not going to happen with him here

So why are we conceding more goals?

Should be an easy question to answer
There can be many reasons. The midfield is not dominant or not covering, we are not holding the ball up top as well as we should, the keeper is not playing as well as last season, the other teams have been more clinical etc etc. You've a lot to learn. Stats after a few games hardly ever tell the whole story.

One common denominator

Were playjng exactly the same as last season. Youre making excuses.

There was a few times I noticed against Rotheram when we were getting forward that Ross was animated more than usual, waving his arms instructing for people to get back.

In The Journal this morning...
says he set a target of 20 clean sheets at the start of the season.

We have good players here and i think the reward will come in that sense if we keep believing in what we do.
We are not giving up a huge amount of opportunities per game as seen on Tuesday where Jon McLoughlin didn't have a huge amount to do against a good team.
From what i have seen on the training ground and in matches we will get those rewards sooner rather than later
We are actually still on target for 20 clean sheets this season.

The problem is though...
Ross is not a bad Manager, mas shown last season by getting into the play offs and 2 finals, however he is not a good Manager either.
So it is hard to sack him while we are still close to the top, but i see the same as last season.... we will be close, but with nothing at the end of it.
But while we are close Ross has an argument for... we would have gone up if they did not sack me. Sad thing is for him to be proven wrong, we all lose out.
Excellent post
Thing is, when the likes of man city, utd, Liverpool aren't winning things they will make managerial changes when 3rd or 4th. If we genuinely believe we are a big team in this league then we should be getting in someone who will get us up. I have no doubt we'll get in the top 5/6. I think we are more likely to get playoffs than automatic which for me isn't good enough for a team thats outspent the rest of the league.
