Does anyone actually enjoy their job

Were you pretty much teetotal anyway?

Who covers when you are on holiday?
They have to fly someone in to cover me if the problem can’t be fixed over the phone
It doesn't work with getting pissed. Some people aren't bothered about getting pissed.
These sort of jobs get compensated well.
I can qualify for up to a 100% annual bonus. That’s just crazy when you think about it

It’s easy and boring but know one bothers me, I’m left to get on with things. The money isn’t great but it’s enough to get by.
I retrained last year as a spark but couldn’t get my foot in the door anywhere so looks like I’m stuck!

I don’t mind mine, insulation on pipes in a power station , can be a bit itchy at times but generally left alone to get on with it.

The downside is the last lagger left 3 month before I started so I’ve no one teaching me how it’s done properly ( metal cladding) so there’s a lot of silicon used . Other downside is the amount of do Gooders onsite that don’t actually know what they are on about comin upand asking what i am doing ? Fuck off isn’t the done thing to say
The money isn’t brilliant but for what we do in a week I suppose it’s ok
I’m a lagger myself mate. Which power station you on?

Loads of people don't drink mate. I'm not one of them but if the money was right I am sure I'd manage to pack in the drink if it was going to improve my lifestyle in other ways.
Fuck that. I could improve my lifestyle and solve all my problems by moving abroad and earning treble what I do now, but I wouldn’t enjoy it. Some things are worth more than money.

I enjoy what I do. If I didn’t I wouldn’t do it. Life’s to short.
Agree with this though sometimes the salary is what keeps you at a place .If the job gives your family security and money to enjoy then sometimes you keep your head down and get on with it.Money is certainly not everything( health is and friendship) but it does make life easier

I like the job but where I work has been really quiet the last few weeks to the point where I’ve started to wonder about moving onto another firm which I really don’t want to do.

I do like...I get paid for fuck all...Just do about 10 hours worth of graft in a single week....

Career wise it's shit like...

I used to think I did. When I was working in IT recruitment, then I switched to being a full time Realtor and cannot believe how amazing my life became and just how much I love what I do.

There’s a little bit more to consider than that like.
This is it really.
It depends what you want out of life. I like having a busy lifestyle. If anything having to stay focused helps me. When I was truck driving I had way to much time in my own head and hated it.
This job I rarely get anytime away from work but I enjoy it. I love the pressure.
The money and the perks are great. I hardly spend any of my own money.
But as people have posted, I sacrifice a big part of the social life to commit to it.

It comes down to what you see as important

I really like my job. I have a brilliant manager and team lead who are actually bothered about my career and push me to do better. I work from home full time so I have a fantastic work life balance. Money is very good and the other benefits are canny as well.

I wouldn't like to work abroad but only because I have kids.
As discussed numerous times on here - you can’t buy your kids’ childhood back - so people who work away from their families to build a better future may sacrificing more than they realise. My mate works away in Brazil and only sees his daughter every couple of months, and has since she was born. Yes, he’s loaded now but he’s missing huge chunks of her life.
