Well then you are brainlessOnly the pricks and trolls, which you are both
Genuine reply.
Surely gower will go to TMS?

I’m gone! Seeing them two together for the last time. End of an era in my cricket watching.Little bit emotional on that last segment with Gower admitting he didn't want to leave

So what? It's a presenting job not a coaching job.and no doubt be replaced someone who has never played at the highest level.

I reckon I could do a decent cricket commentators job and my highlight was taking 4-10 in the midweek league div 5 in 2016
I don’t know what sky are thinking. It’s insanity. They’ve got a superb blend with Gower, Lloyd, Atherton, Hussain and Botham. Some humour, some brilliant analysis, some very good presenting and chemistry that’s been built up over a long period of time. None of them are past it or sound like dinosaurs. Change for change sake
Gower is brilliant though
He’d be a good presenter anyway but he can draw on his own experience without blowing his own trumpet
No idea why they are letting go
Problem is, Gower and Botham last played international cricket in 1992 - 27 years ago. Before many viewers were born. They (like TMS) have to move with the times.I don’t know what sky are thinking. He's good but as stated elsewhere he and Botham are commentating on a game they've never played before. Test, T20 and ODI are a world away from their era and there is no harm in fresh blood
SKY are banking on Stuart Broad retiring soon

Kids growing up watching 2005 Ashes want to see the likes of Flintoff, Vaughan and Harmison not Gower, Botham and Lloyd. They don't identify with them
i get the point though, Botham and Gower were my heroes growing up, it's tough to see them go
Fair enough. All about opinions I guess. Both were cricketers before my time. I identify with them. I’d rather cut my ears off than listen to Flintoff or Vaughan commentate on cricket.
