Takeover Rumours

The only games I can think of where we ayed well last seaoan were Scunthorpe at home and Barnsley game first half where we took the piss.

We were getting results last season but we're creating very very little still but Maja was converting almost every chance and we were being battered by sides who just kept missing chances. Plymouth away, they had about 30 attempts on goal and hit the target once and we beat them with hardly any attempts ourselves.

At the beginning of the season we pressed more but we often went behind early on so something changed and we stopped working and pressing.

In the end poor performances, build up of fixtures, and the luck of relying on other sides to either gift us chances or miss sitters caught up on us as from what I've seen so far this season very little has changed from that except our performances overall are worse but this may well be because we've weakened the squad in the summer and haven't resolved glaring issues we had.

I'm not having cheating as a reason we don't dominate any games even against relegation fodder who's whole squad earns less than Mcgeady.

maja is a good point

opponents cheating etc did cost us. Some of the decisions against us at the SOL were atrocious. With rescinded red cards meant that for those games we were not at full strength.

with up to 7 games to go we were still in the driving seat, we were still favourites to go up and we blew it big style. It was the teams targeted McGeady, it matters not on how much a player earns, it is cheating to target a player in order to injure him.

It may be we changed the style of play was to counteract the cheating / rough tackling of the other teams.

In fact Ross himself has said, that playing good football will not get us promoted as last season showed (he was talking after the Rochdale game IIRC) or words to that effect and he was saying a win is a win.

Happens in every game not just ours. Refs get stuff wrong all the time as well. Again, I csnt except an excuse that some team kick Mcgeady as an excuse to consistenly play so poorly.

Ross doesn't seem capable of good football so that sounds like a good excuse for him, although I don't expect good football either. I do expect us to look better than sides like Rochdale or Accrington and it doesn't require good football to do that.

Also regarding Ross, he said said clean sheets will get us promoted this year and not goals which is odd considering we haven't had one all season.

Just needs time mate anotherc20 games and hes had around 100 to get it right but it's all kneejerk

Results will be the deciding factor in my book if we are taken over and we are only say 4th by december i think ross will be gone I do however think that if we keep most people fit we will be top of the league before december (as i think the league is worse than last year) and nobody is going to sack ross if we are in the top two !I am however willing to put 500 quid on a charity bet with someone who thinks ross will get us promoted to the premiership next season! Is there anybody on here who thinks he will be able to get us up to the prem in one year?.if the takeover does not go through ross will be here until either he resigns or his contract runs out!
Well said this weeks ago posters discussing contracts running out, nobody mentioned ross his runs out end of season. So make of that what you will . I think he will go after takeover is completed

Can you point point on how many occasions we actually played good football for the majority of the match last season?

got one big project left in him - please give me the job.

got a backroom staff ready to go if you just please... give me the job.

sights set on Sunderland - please give me the job.

of course you're going to claim there's no quotes but ha'way man. It's quite clear where this story is coming from and it won't be from the club, the board or the new potential owners.
He’s never been shy in putting himself forward!
