Is anyone else sick of seeing our Superb Chairman of Selectors and his little puppet sitting there with their f****** sunglasses on? They look so stupid - does not help their reputations if they have one. Get rid of this closed group that run the thing and bring in proper people and not MCC members. Not a chance of happening btw. Get someone in to shake them up. The players can play but they are maybe not as good as people hope.

Me ^^

Ed Smith, although a man of Kent and ex-county captain can fcuk off back to his commentary seat at TMS. James Taylor....well we know why he got the job.

As bad as what he went through, it's no fcuking excuse to give him an easy pay day to show-off his latest new designer sunglasses.

To be fair looks like Poms have a massive hangover from the world cup, quite funny how Hobart hurricane had both Broad and Archer and they have performed really well, so send us Roy will fix him

I wasn’t confident of our chances before the series because our team was unsettled and it is obvious Root is struggling. I watch him and yearn for the happy go lucky prankster of pre captaincy. If his batting was still as good as it was he’d get through but that is being affected as well.
Who’s the successor though? I don’t see anyone knocking on the door.
This is where selectors and management earn their money and they need to remedy the situation fast.

Is nobody going to be gracious or sporting enough to say we have been beaten by nothing short of a brilliant series by Smith and superb bowling by Hazelwood and Cummins and give them credit for their performances

Are are we too busy calling our own players who ultimately gave their best but will be beaten by the above.

Both best batsman on both sides by a mile played in the World Cup as did possibly their best bowler

Who were the red ball specialists who did the business for the Aussies like?

Their best two players Smith and Cummins played in the World Cup.

Well you are the self-appointed voice of fair play and this a nice sentiment. I agree to a point: it is clear to me the Australians are a better side, have better test cricketers in terms of their all-court ability. But the suspicion lingers that they have beaten us here, in England, also because they are better prepared and that's not really acceptable. The World Cup - which I probably would have taken ahead of the Ashes tbh - is not an acceptable excuse. The Aussies played in it too! They just prepared their team better for test cricket, recognising the clear differences between red and white ball preparation and the challenges posed by the back to back schedule.

Yeah I agree with that, their plans to our batsman and preparation in terms of fitness and organisation very good,

But I don’t agree it was because they picked red ball specialists or because they had more red ball practice.
