Aye, Ben Stokes is pretty wealthy.Private jet coming in to ponteland now from Manchester .
His record would suggest otherwise. It suggests he's been our most successful manager over the last ten years.
Or... he's our worst manager ever in the third division? His record would suggest otherwise. It suggests he's been our most successful manager over the last ten years.
When you have a back line like ours you can't rely on defending so may as well attack - the only good defence is a good offence and all thatWhen you have the back line we have yes.....didn’t he take the brakes off at home against Coventry last season and look what happened!
How many of the current squad would you have in the PL if somehow we we're there in 2 years time? Is Ross getting the best out of the current squad this season and did he last? How would he perform if he was given a squad like Everton's for us in the PL or basically which PL team could you see Ross managing now and being successful with? What do you base this on, the 2 biggest egos in the Sunderland dressing room since Jack took over would have to have been Catts and McGeady, Catts couldn’t say enough good things about Jack and McGeady loves playing for him!

Where did Ross say that about Dobson ?

I know what you mean but out of all of them have you ever seen a thread with so much horseplop ?Its a fan opinion site fella ,what do you expect ?!apply that analysis to the whole board over the last ten years and you wouldnt be enough meaningfull posts as you describe to create a small two page A5 pamphlet on how to make meaningfull posts on a football fan website!

The echo I think but not certain, I've never read as much online stuff since this takeover, my heads a bit scrambledWhere did Ross say that about Dobson ?
Don’t tell me you enjoy watching his teams bumble aimlessly through games ?No direction /ethos/game plan .A year in and they still look like a load of strangers who Havnt played togetherUseless.....aye nice one Gilly the Dilf![]()
Cheers. He said he was finding it difficult to adapt like o’Nien but that’s about it

Excellent post. I have lost faith in Ross myself, but this is how to argue a point.Alright. I think he came into a club in absolute shambles, in a league he's never managed in, as a young manager still learning his trade. He had to deal with the enormous wage discrepancies, and build a squad in a matter of weeks. The few PL leftovers aside it's a league one squad and I don't think last season was the free hit everyone else seemed to.
From April he failed, should have got top two and then should have won the play offs. I'm happy enough to give him a chance to improve on that, become more bold in his approach and push us on with some stability.
He's gotten the best out of McGeady. He got Cattermole playing well from a point of fans at preseason telling him to fuck off. One thing you can't say is the players aren't trying for him. When we go out and play our own game we look good and I like the neat passing style, plus his ability to mix it up when needed. He understands the game well and I think he is a lot more intelligent than the likes of Kenny Jacket or some of the other managers at this level I sometimes see posters saying we should go and get.
He has failings. Of course. I've always admitted as much. He should be more confident and play more attacking football, he should have sorted the defence out (I think Willis has helped). He needs to be more ruthless when it comes to the crunch and win the big games. More than that I think he needs to demonstrate he has a vision for the future in terms of adding young players who can develop with us as we progress....O'nien, Dobson, Willis, etc fit the bill.
I think he gets a rough time because some of our supporters can't handle how far we've fallen and think turning it around should be a foregone conclusion. I don't think it's as simple as that. If the takeover goes through as we all expect I'd be telling him "you've got until end of November to have us comfortably top and playing well".
I'm not saying he's definitely the answer but I think he's being written off too soon.
He’s better off in the Scottish leaguesPersonally think Ross might be better in the championship with his stlye of football which is more structured. This league is all about the basics and physicality which unfortunately we do not do well enough.
