Not often a nation loses a series on home soil. Theuve played our conditions better than us... and we wont win in australia as we are even worse there and none of out lineup can play a short ball

We let them come over and play county cricket to get their eye in. No rules broken but it makes no sense to me. They were far better prepared than we were.

They played 2/3 warm up games and then another game between the last test and this one.

Meanwhile next summer our team will warm up by playing 16.4 over cricket

Be interesting to see if the ECB allow test players to play the last round of county games. They haven't in previous years for example.

I think as a unit their bowling attack is better than ours but it was Smith who made the difference between the sides for me...take him out of their team and I honestly think we'd have won this series

100% this broad and archer were on par easily. Take Smith our and you have two very even teams.
We lost our main bowler after four overs.
Both teams had batsman who had decent knocks now and then
The openers bar one were terrible for both teams.

Yes but the ECB don't allow our lads to play red ball cricket. It's hideous and has gone on for years

It’s not a ridiculous notion though, can still spoil their party. A draw is not a win, even if a Lords club shop replica trophy is up for grabs.

Think losing Jimmy was massive tbh. He’d have had a field day against their batting lineup and would have made a massive difference this series. Shame he couldn’t have played a part as it’d have made a massive difference. Doubt Smith would have been as dominant had Jimmy been playing
