Takeover Rumours

Nah I’m fine thank you.

Why are you being arsey then? I would't necessarily be enamoured by Phillips either, I'm just discussing the possibilities. You mentioned getting in an experienced manager, which is fine, when it works, but there's no clear proven formula as we've experienced for ourselves in recent times.

Obviously, I don't know, but I'd speculate:

1. Money talks; in fact, with these blokes, it shouts (not at shops, though, oh, no, not likely) & possibly yodels anarl;

2. What greater (legitimate, non-sexual, drug-free) thrill could a manager get from the job than taking a team up the divisions & then cementing them as a team that can compete at the highest level? He'd be a folk hero. Cowards & play-safe merchants need not apply.

Something along those lines, perhaps?

Yeah I agree, I hope you're right.

Only me and Bob knar that just had ye water man, anouncement soon
I’ve seen posters banned for derailing match threads with a burst of unnecessary negativity like an oh ffs when 0-0 and tense as fuck, I reckon this attention seeking outburst is of similar poor taste

Any prospective manager who thinks it's a step down to manage a club owned by fowa billionaires, with the facilities & loyal following (I don't like the word fanbase) we have self-evidently wouldn't be the right fit. But I suspect there are some out there who might see this as the chance of a lifetime. Who maybe share the owners' vision that we are a blank canvas upon which arl manner of wonderful pictures might be painted. I like Ross. I still think that, given more time, he can get it right & become a top manager. However, the piper carls the tune & as others have arlriddy said, a managerial appointment is the only significant marker the new lads can put down at this juncture, now the winda has closed.

The SOL
The AOL
The fans
The financial backing
The board

Will hopefully all add up to a compelling argument to attract a great new manager and great footballing strategy including scouting and acquiring new talent. Brian Marwood's name was being kicked around last week, got to think we need somebody like that on board to give oversight to the whole project.

As for Ross Ive see nothing from him to suggest he will ever be a success here.

The other option I suppose is announce extension of Ross’ contract and issue that he has our full backing call.

 I laugh, but it's actually a very good point. He's out of contract at the end of the season isn't he? If the board believe he's the right man, surely they'd be in negotiations with him now about extending his contract. That won't be the case I imagine as he's currently struggling and does not have the full backing of our fans.

If we're to push on, we all need to be pushing for the same thing and in order to get the fans completely onside, we need to see results and positive performances on the field. We can count on one hand how many good games we've seen since Ross has been in charge. He also seemed quite nonchalant when journalists were quizzing him if he thought he was under pressure, it came across as though he wasn't that arsed, which he should be.
