4th Ashes Test - Old Trafford

There's a lot of negativity on this forum I really don't understand it sometimes.

We seem to have spent the whole summer talking about coach sackings, too many white ball players, replaceing large parts of the team, worst England team in 20 years.

And they might yet finish the summer winning the Ashes (and the World Cup). Long way to go but its not over till its over.

No coincidence that the “best exponent of reverse swing” Mitchell Stark has went from world number 1 two years ago to not getting selected for 3 tests this time around. Wonder if anything happened to cause this in the last two years

It was very odd down there that Stark was getting incredible reverse and yet Anderson was getting virtually zero.

They don’t have a chouce

They took a reading earlier in the test and as soon as it hits that they go off

Christ that’s far too late then

New ball will end this

I know that, but it does seem to get flexed to suit. Coincidence that they stay out longer on final days than others - unless they are always invariably brighter somehow

Has he got a good technique? I haven't seen him play. Good average is encouraging but county cricket doesn't have the quality it once had.

Haven’t seen a lot but I worry he is a little loose

@TheRey will have a better view
He has got a pretty good technique, I wouldn't worry about him in that score. I reckon, because he's young and a bit raw, he may need a bit of patience initially - but he absolutey has the ability to be a top class Test batsman IMO

Think I'd have snapped your hand off for this at the start of the day. 4 wickets in hand going into tea.

Really need Jos to stick it out to the end.
