I met him once (sat opposite him on a train back from London) and he was intelligent, polite, interesting and funny.

I wouldn’t fancy him as a manager now - I think the game has moved on - but he’s been involved at top end of football for all of his career and I’d expect he knows a damn sight more than the average person about running a successful team.
