Takeover Rumours

Been well over a 12hr shift at work and fuck knows how many pages have been added on to this since I caught up while eating my toast this morning.

Whats the latest? Done and announced tomorrow?

All 3 outlets posting at the same time was obviously in response to information from the club, that's not wild speculation

None of them posted anything concrete confirming it as far as I'm aware? The only concrete thing Roker did was retweet an article from the BBC saying its imminent. Couple of giddy tweets such as a L1 in American flags and dollar signs and the like and even those were at a time when this thread was at a frenzy thinking it could be today or tomorrow. Add to that if they had fed them information - get ready lads its tomorrow. Then why was it the BBC who then had to tell them it wasn't?

the thing about all this - I know we are getting carried away about being mega rich. but so does the current owners and american investors if it wasnt going to be as amazing as we are all expecting - I think someone would have been given the nod to temper our expectations by now - Stewart Donald or somebody would have said something along the lines of - "we are trying to get investment but we are not going to be the new Man City etc". having seen how people are getting excited on twitter and on here - and to keep quiet, tells me these guys really do mean business because it wouldn't damage the deal to temper our expectations

Ive already ordered my donny trump mask and star spangled banner

I think they've definitely been getting info this time. Earlier today both RR and ALS (and RAWA iirc) all posted things suggesting something had happened within a couple of minutes of each other. I'd imagine at that point they were on for a Friday announcement, and it was all signed off. It's obviously still all agreed and will 100% happen, but whatever the issue is that's preventing them from finalising a date/ time for the announcement presumably means Donald et al don't know for certain when it'll be, so RR and the likes won't be getting fed info either
When this first came out it started with a simple picture of the backpage of a newspaper with the news being a side story on it, within minutes of that backpage going up on twitter RR had a full story detailing the deal elements as well as the 3 wealth of the 3 main investors, now either their writers can type at 500 words per minute or they had already been fully briefed on the takeover and had to wait until it had already hit the press to release it. They've always had info from donald cant see that suddenly changing now

They posted the American flag thing at almost exactly the same time as RAWA posted about it being the day before Christmas and ALS posted "get ready". They hadn't been posting things like that previously and it was obviously coordinated. When the announcement slipped presumably the club didn't feel the need to brief them all immediately, hence the BBC bit might have taken them by surprise. Doesn't detract from the fact that the coordinated posts from the three groups were almost certainly orchestrated by the club, it's not wild speculation, it's highly likely

Sorry but that’s utterly preposterous. Minutes after the deal is done the club is on the phone to rawa and rr? ffs “you can all post a cryptic hint but nothing more”

Oh normally they do without doubt. I get the impression not this time though. They've been reactive to what's been said on here when tweeting stuff, and then appeared as surprised as us when the BBC claimed it wouldn't be done until next week.
It could be very to similar to what happens with @Reiver he has said hes been told loads of info about this but can’t say it all without breaking confidence but once somebody else reports it then can easily share it while maintaining confidence
