Takeover Rumours

This 1000%^ It makes my heart sink when I see the quality of personnel involved with the club, not just on the pitch. I was watching STID in the middle of the night (I'll Sleep when I'm Dead!) and when the lad was announcing Grayson's sacking, he gabbled like a goose. PR on a world stage needs diction, clarity and a strong Mackem accent! They've let BBC Newcastle take the piss for decades. I seriously doubt the capabilities of the stewards to control an incident. Everything around the stadium needs an upgrade including the catering/drinking. How can you get that massive crowd of CUSTOMERS all in one place and then can't wait to usher them off the premises. It's mad! So much could be done without laying a brick.
I hope the American service ethos is front and centre with the new regime.

I 100% disagree with that last sentence. I hate the American service ethos. Ous much prefer to be dealt with by someone who is rightly miserable than a fake smile and a have a good day. Of course I'm not going to have a good day I'm watching Sunderland

This is absolutely spot on. It’s ingrained in a section of the support now.
I've seen a grown man throw a wobbler and bin his shirt on the way out the ground because we've been beaten off Manchester United. Mental.

Where we sit there's a few ever presents in front and next to me da, but the rest of the crowd around us fluctuates from game to game, and some of the tripe I've heard over the years makes ya laugh like.

Generally isn't fake though. They are just happier people and take pride in their work. Unlike the miserable kernts over here who think everything should be handed to them on a plate without actually working hard for it.

I think we have had different experiences. I agree the corporate, smiley bullshit is annoying, but so is the miserable, minimum-wage, gig-economy reluctance to spread any joy. Restaurant service there makes you feel almost 'pampered', and usually a service desk is run by a 'marine' who is going to move heaven and earth to solve your problem. And don't worry about watching the Lads. If this happens, we are looking at a new dawn.;)

ABSOLUTELY 100% with a fan base like ours to market to it's criminal if it is not properly exploited (in the nicest possible sense of course)

I don't think we have different experiences, I think different things make us happy. I know what you mean about the service desks but the pampered thing, I don't like that either. Mind I was meaning the special UK version of the American ethos that you would get here. Is all the worst parts of the smiley smile with none of the actual solving your issue

I've worked for people like these and they make your head spin, the dynamism is absolutely relentless.

If you fall off the troop carrier they don't even look back to see if you survived, they just drive on.

People can't get their breath and anyone who questions the revolution is lead outside and out up against the wall.

It sounds harsh but it works and forms a much tighter team than having 'cake runs' and 'secret Santas'.

I'm sure there are people who've been through that and will recognise the scenario.
As the great Juan Fangio once said..."What is behind is not important" It true then as it is today :D :D :D

This. American service is fantastic and everyone over there seems to be polite and happy unlike over here

not sure how true this is but I was told that they’ve looked at putting a roof on the stadium! They want to attract all sorts of events to us, different sports and bigger names for concerts. The roof would cost north of £20 million! I was like howld on could that not go in to the club and the reply I got was “don’t worry about that, if they are ready to spend that on a f***ing roof they have plenty to go in to the football side”. All from the same fella who gave me a few bits of info at Rochdale.
That's exactly what we were told from a friend of SD's last home game
