Thats been the highlight on matchday for a lot of us for too long..Trying to tell my 9 year old what the crack is. It’s hard work trying to explain how much things could change. His response was, can I still get a burger before the match.
Only smoked salmon souffles from now on - dump the paupers...Trying to tell my 9 year old what the crack is. It’s hard work trying to explain how much things could change. His response was, can I still get a burger before the match.
absolutely this. Well said marra, have a likeThere's lots to be done. Those 'interviews' with mumbled sound that look like they were shot by a six-year-old with an i-phone4; the catering is absolutely abysmal, the stewards look like the walking dead; the 'fanzone' is a mere shadow of what could be done; the SoL needs to better exploited to support the lasses/kids/U23s etc. and we haven't got on the grass yet. The sports science/dietary advice/physical conditioning needs to be cutting edge; we need to explore psychological and motivational development; the football coaching, especially the defence, needs to drilled and drilled and drilled again; we need a comprehensive strategy for bringing through Academy products; there needs to be a pastoral unit too. It's a new day.
A lot of contracts are up in a few months, so the people on the grass need to cop on too.
let's hope he doesn't read this postThat's fine mate, as long as you're not putting me under any pressure
OK, I've resisted so far but I'll say more having spoken to the personal friend of two of the buyers.
He's been in touch today and given me just a little more info but not much tbh.
I'm stringing him along but have no intention of working for him as Mrs Reiver wasn't happy with the proposal. I'm only pretending to be considering his offer so I can get more info for you lot which I think is decent of me tbf. It's a shame I won't be able to use him for real first hand inside info, in the future, If I worked for him I'd get to meet his friends in a relaxed atmosphere and work my undoubted charm.
That would put me in a position where I have two of our owners as 'friends' and be able to let them use me as a 'source' to leak stuff to the likes of you
I'm gutted but our lass puts up with a lot and she comes before you lot.
Anyway, having set the scene, here's what else I can say, in terms we're all familiar with, and without breaking confidences. The new owners are as cool as the other side of the pillow but absolutely driven in their quest for absolute success in every aspect of their lives. Every part of the club will be electro-shocked into action, money will be pumped into it by whatever means are legally available and anyone who 'fails' will be forced to walk the plank. The supporters, despite all the years of promises, magic carpets and disappointment, will be expected to get on board. I suspect that, if that support is begrudging, the owners will feel free to do whatever they wish to attract sponsorship, investment and support from outside the UK. We have to bear in mind that TV, sponsorship, merchandising, corporate involvement, etc, totally eclipse our input. We have a chance, maybe only one, to be a big part of this ... otherwise we'll see it happen despite us, not because of us.
That would hurt me and, I hope, all of you.
IMO the new owners will install their own 'trustees' at the club to run it and report back.
Donald and Charlie will be peripheral PR figures who liaise with the supporters etc.
Likeable uncles at a wedding who do daft card tricks for the kids.
I am flying out this morning on holidays, thanks a bunch you bastards. I will be sneaking on here though when “the sun gets too hot”.

Looking at his posts, sometimes he seemed to have a lot of inside info. Think that was what led people to think he was connected with the club in some way. He was a master of appearing to be thick, but then revealing an intelligent remark....the spelling was a ruse,no doubt.

Wasn't it a retired English manager that was mentioned not a ginger Seaham lad.Wonder if a certain ex Sheffield Wednesday and Arsenal winger from the area with recent CEO experience at a club given a similar financial "shock" to send it forward might be the one involved?![]()
Any idea what they mean by that? Are they expecting us to fill the stadium and stay to the end, make more noise etc? Or is their another meaning behind it?
Ya just a bairn lassSod not doing a Man City, I want to do a Man City and Chelsea at the same time.
I’m 55 time is running out![]()
Cheers for asking that, thought it was just me![]()
I suspect that D & C will be shadowed from a distance for the chosen new leaders of the club, not necessarily the owners to see how it is done due to the differences in uk and us cultures.
After this transitional period it will be quietly announced that D & C shares have been bought out / reduced to very minor shareholdings
I do hope they do keep a Brit perspective on board as don't want them to do the same mistake as ES by removing football people from the board
