A vain hope I know, but please can someone give me a brief (sensible) synopsis of the takeover situation so far? I've been away with extremely limited access to wifi so playing catchup and haven't had time to read the whole thread. Between the lines it seems there are cat fights interspersed with apparent ITK intelligence. I know 'intelligence' isn't something usually ascribed to this board, but hey ho.

Several of us have heard from various sources that it IS going ahead and is now in the hands of legal teams and the EFL.

I think, and hope, that initially they will be us. But let's welcome all.... will there be a flood of new members and how many will be Sunderland?
It would be good to see new people joining and decent threads started on various subjects.
I can see Sunderland receiving a real boost from this and not just on the pitch.
Those Trans-Atlantic flights are quite long so we may have a few new lurkers

As far as I can tell it appears there's not been much in the way of concrete developments. Basically those with any form of info are saying it's all on course still, possibly at the stage of just awaiting EFL approval. That could take some time so it's possible that next week could be the time for any announcement. So nowt to worry about, but not imminent as far as people can ascertain

but, for balance, to play devils advocate as it were, I think the deal has been struck between the consortium and Donald.. and maybe the solicitors are pouring over it and the EFL ratification process are happening simultaneously.

I live in the Cotswolds and I can remember my lad being upset when his glory hunting mates gave him stick for supporting a rubbish team (we were Premier league then too!).
I explained the difference between real fans and them buggers, he took it on board and wore it as a badge of honour.
He's now immensely proud to be the only SAFC fan in his school, (even through our relegations).
He asked me this week (13 now) if this takeover could mean loads of people in our town suddenly supporting us, really didn't like the idea.
Was quite proud of him
but explained winning the Champions League would inevitably bring it's hangers on.
