Takeover Rumours

Yes in the future that’s acceptable. But he can’t answer the initial questions we have about their involvement/ investment strategy/ short and long term goals.

Even if it’s a one off, I want the fans to be allowed to question them and to set the tone of this new era as one of complete transparency.

Not sure I like the sound of that tbh.

If some of the weirdos, on here and elsewhere, were allowed to interrogate them they'd probably scarper.

As you know from this board we don't all speak with the same voice so it would end up as 'he who shouts loudest'. In my experience that's usually the most extreme and manic people.

Man City, Liverpool, United, Arsenal don't operate with complete transparency, far from it.

I'd expect incredibly successful busineemen to wish to arrive at the club, take time to investigate every area of the club and be left to sort it out. I'd hope they'd learn from the mistakes Short made and take the wishes of the supporters into consideration. But, in all honesty, being ambushed by various groups and individuals, who think they know best, would be self destructive imo.

I, for one, will simply trust these people and keep my fingers crossed, realistically that's all you can ever do.

Sorry if that sounds naive but that's how I see it.

Have you heard how much involvement Dell is having, is a it as the Chronicle says and he’s got pretty much nothing to do with it or is he actually part of the group investing?

Nothing that specific, other than what's been in the press, ie he'll be a shareholder, but not on the board. That's not unheard of, even with 100% owners; Abramovic isn't on the board at Chelsea, nor is Ashley up the road.

Do you think there's an element of philanthropy going on here in addition to still making reasonable rates of return, akin to part of the return being an ethical or social dividend if you will. Clearly these fellas get bombarded daily with far better money making opportunities than presented by safc?

From the outside looking in I think there must be a romantic element to it, Stewart, Charlie and Juan have clearly embraced the culture of what we are all about. I remember Stewart saying in an interview a while back that one of the main reasons he is here is to enjoy the journey of building something here. Yes there will and have been bumps but that make the achievements and milestones even more enjoyable. Hopefully Stewart, Charlie and Juan have managed to help see these investors what we are all about and to join the club.

To use a space analogy, after Stewart and co helped us discover how to get airborne in a glider these guys are hopefully providing the Saturn 5 rockets.

Do the EFL work on a bank holiday Monday 😂

Corporate finance doesn't recognise bank holidays, nor that day and night are different things, to be fair. They seem to have a strange belief that a deal is only valid if signed at 4.30am after a massive allnighter. Bury alone will make sure they're working today. Giving our deal clearance should be a bit of light relief compared to that.

i have no particualr feelings for the city of sunderland thats true, why would I I support the football team not the area. IVe never been to the area and have no plans to do so unless its for football.
So you have never been to Sunderland and you think you can judge the people’s expectations

 I think a lot of posters today arnt happy with these rich people .I think they want it put back to the people on a second referendum.

Up until tonight I hadn't decided about you, now I have.

You have no love for the city of Sunderland, the club or the supporters.

No problem, you're certainly not alone on this board.

You're certainly a fake, and a bitter one at that.
Blokes the biggest wanker on this board, and that takes some doing. The people who supposedly support us yet constantly slag off the fans or the area is unreal.

I agree with leaving the owners to get on with it but I also think when your club has gone through the mill a little bit you develop a certain level of scepticism. At the end of the day you love your club and you worry what the next guy wants to come in and rip out
