Takeover Rumours

Agreed, a fan member sitting on the board (ideally someone from RAWA) would be a good idea and very much welcome imo. We can't go back to the Short days having made so much progress with Donald and Methven. Granted of they delivered a successful team, I wouldn't care as much, but there's nothing wrong with fan involvement, providing the fans we're talking about aren't knackers.

And there's the problem, it would cause endless rows and disagreements.

Haway let's be honest the 'wishes of the fans' couldn't be clearer for every club in the league ...

... properly run club in a decent stadium who make progress and challenge for trophies, not exactly advance computer theory is it?

Besides arguing about how long it takes to get a half time pint, under the South Stand, would take up the entire initial meeting

inctreasing links with the community can mean anything. they arent going to develop other businesses in sunderland for the sake of it, why would they? they aere philantropists but not this..they want a long term growth asset..
are they so good at business that they can see long term growth in other assets associated with safc that ellis short couldnt? and quinn and his property developer mates?

Considering Ellis had a $1bn and these bloke's have many multiples of that yes, I'd say they were better at business.

Heat the pies to the same temperature as lava and give all the kids a swing to stand on at the front.

Have the bovril the same temperature as the watter at seaburn, re build Barclay Court and the shop that used to tape some of the final scores on his shop window in Roker on the walk back over to town...
Follow the away fans back to seaburn station...
And the strippers back on in The Vic...if only we had a compere hmmm @concert party

They'll make mistakes just like Man Utd have with poor choices of manager, daft signings like Sanchez & Pogba and wasting money on academy players who are released.

But the money means those mistakes don't cripple the club as happened when the funding from Short dried up.

All the big clubs make terrible signings but can cope with it, we've had to keep our mistakes in the first team.

Personally I think he's full of shit. If he isn't it makes a lot of what he's says very patronising. I know we're very set in our ways up here and we all know Sunderland isn't exactly Beverley hills. But fuck me there seems to be a lot of people who think they know everything about us and how to fix it. I might be being biased here, but I love where I live.
Just talks nonsense to wind us up . I don’t agree with what you say about enjoying this league but I know what it’s based on and I respect it .

Imagine the sheepfolds having a fan centre, training ground, 5 a side complex, gym and more. Would be f***ing magical.

It would be pretty much pointless relocating the training ground to the sheepfolds though and it wouldn't improve the local infrastructure particularly.

This is a great article, these guys are serial winners and ultra smart, clearly.

We’ve hit the jackpot here ladies and gentlemen. The fact that they are buying us as individuals rather than through MSD is also a great strategy as they aren’t beholding to create short term (or actually even long term) returns.

The reality is anything that anyone could dream of in terms of financial return would be largely irrelevant to them such is their wealth.

Charlie and Stewart May well have created a cause here. If they have and these guys get wrapped up in SAFC and the emotional side of it then the sky is the limit
This is in an ideal world... I'd still like to see what these guys have to say and their long term ideas to grow the club and the direction they wish to go even though the deal was signed some weeks ago and as you have (I think said in another post) only need EFL ratification which could be by the end of this week.

I hope they’ll be willing to sit down with the likes of ALS, WMS and/or Roker Report after the deal goes through and answer fans questions. I know they’re super rich, but I don’t want the distance between fans and ownership to go back to the Pre-Donald days.
Don and chas are staying, keep up marra :)

If/when this deal goes through, everyone needs to pull in the same direction. All those that have stayed away since our relegation, need to return.

This is a huge opportunity and we need to get behind the club. Let’s start by pushing our average attendance to over 35,000 and getting the Prem Concourse back open
I left the NE in 1988 to join the Army, been to every game I could, even flew back 5 hours from Cyprus for the mags Derby a few years back. Now living in Scunthorpe as I work alot down south and had my season ticket for a few years after leaving the forces, it took its toll with the turgid shite that was on display and the 5 hour round trip was, well not a nice experience, watching mercenaries pull on a shirt and not even bother was a hard pill to swallow. I gave up my season ticket and became a UK member and now pick and choose my games. I was tempted to get my season ticket again this season and may do it from the start of next, I do get to the away games as it is really easy for me where I live. I am planning on moving back upto Sunderland in the next couple of years and will definitely be getting it back then. HTL KTF

Getting hard thinking about it

Nobody in their right mind would have expected Sanchez to be so shit for them. That's football, like you say. I just can't believe someone would do their upmost to try and poo poo anyone who's seeing the potential in this deal.

None of this should bother you at all. Rid yourself of your bad dreams and be sensible about how our club benefits rather than how it does not benefit NUFC. It does not concern NUFC. It is about us. Don’t give them a second thought.

I think we have greater ambition than to be better than NUFC.Why so many bothered how our future is comparable with any other club!

Just a shame a section of our fans insist on singing about Newcastle lately for some strange reason..after goals etc.

Loads of these negative posts arnt asking questions though.

Mine is though. I’m seeking to understand what people think will be the immediate practical outcome and features of this prospective takeover, given the limited understanding of the situation that I have.

I’m interested and curious.
