... but no one should be telling me not to get excited when one of the richest men in the world is becoming involved in my club.

I've been told, by a friend, that the deal has reached the point of no return.

I really don't care what strangers think, I'm posting for the people who know me.

Laugh at my home Town certainly not.....my local run Council oh yes, a shambles of an organisation. You don't know outsider so stop trying to gain the high ground on people who do.....connection with SAFC, where's that from then.

A) I do know, it's hardly a closely guarded secret
B) I'm not interested in gaining the high ground on anyone, just hoping the town gets the boost it deserves
C) I don't have to justify myself to the likes of you

I can only say it's long term but 'the sooner the better' .... it certainly isn't a race to the PL then a sale to the highest bidder.

The financial reward for reaching the PL in 5 years, then selling, would be peanuts to these people.

The word banded around is 'legacy' and people can take that any way they choose.

I could post real details but I'd be cutting my nose off to spite my face and throwing away a confidence.

I'm daft but not that daft ;)

I have been critical of Sunderland City Council in the past but given the current austerity surrounding local government I think the Council are doing a great job in terms of regeneration.

By all means be critical when needs be but you are being daft if you think the Council are not doing a good job in trying to regenerate the city.

Thanks to social media everybody is now an expert on everything...if you think you can do better stop wasting your time on here, stand for election and show us how regeneration is done

I know everyone will have their opinions on whether or not this investment will happen, but if it does, this is surely the sort of thing theyā€™d have in mind. These people havenā€™t just woken up one day and thought ā€œletā€™s invest in a third division football club for a bit of a laughā€. There must be genuine aspirations to make things happen. Like you, Iā€™ll choose to get excited about it, because Christ knows there hasnā€™t been too many opportunities to do that in recent years šŸ˜ƒ
