Short unproven? 572 runs in the Big Bash in 2017-2018, where he was named player of the tournament. International T20 average of 33. I'm fully aware when we were awarded the world cup games, I said "oversaw" and the club deserve huge credit, it was a tremendous occasion for the club. If it went tits up, folk would rightly criticise so only fair they get praise. The club had a big say in the organisation of the world cup games. 100% ambitious for him to come in and overhaul the coaching department, why continue with a failing project under Lewis? Fair play for having the bottle and desire to try something different. As for the T20 coaching stuff, I'm genuinely not arsed about that but worth noting the 2nds got to finals day this season. I'm not privy to the contracts of the players but like with all new coaches, some players will leave, some will be brought in. I'm happy and encouraged with this season. People getting wound up about T20 to sum up a season is a tad funny, it does make me laugh. As for appointing a coach with no experience.... Franklin has to start at some point... Paul Collingwood didn't have any coaching history once upon a time. Walker and Lewis were very experienced and we were going backwards under them. Jose Mourinho didn't even play 100 games as a footballer... How dare someone think he would be a good manager. Micheal Di Venuto didn't have any coaching experience not too long ago, he's done well so far for himself...Lees and Raine were appointed long before North took up post.
He took a punt on Short who was a gamble given he was unproven in T20.
He signed Handscomb who has been distinctly moderate.
We were awarded WC games long before North was here.
Organisation of WC games was entirely in the hands of ICC including ticket sales.
He overhauled the coaching staff to appoint a fancy titled head coach without any coaching experience.
He failed to appoint both a batting coach and a T20 coach.
All positive ambitious stuff??
We'll have 12 full time playing staff under contract at the end of the season.
I think I'll reserve judgement.
