Only the team to blame nobody else.Who’s fault is it tonight then?
Thanks mate- at least someone is talking sense.Only the team to blame nobody else.
@Ricci's Special Kebabs hence why he was reported on page 3Who’s fault is it tonight then?
Just brain-dead cricket once the openers went.... AgainClark and Raine's dismissals were laughable. Straight to the only fielder within a hundred yards. Handscomb shocking again as well.
And once again we flopChrist I know everyone struggled to hit the slow bowlers of the square but Durham should have knocked them off.
Pity! one of the few times I have been to the Riverside over the past 25 years to watch Durham and it genuinely felt like a big event.
Just brain-dead cricket once the openers went.... Again
1/100to win
The selections of Graham Clark and Harry Adair were baffling. Poor little fella had a nightmare in the field.
But surely Eckersley/Robson/Burnham (where was Lees?) would have been better suited in such a high profile must-win game. The only crumb of comfort is that, to me, tonights defeat wasn't as bad as the one against Worcs. But I suppose the Worcs defeat just prepared me for tonight. When the middle order can't manage to score 40 off the last 10 overs then anything more than that is completely out of the question. Bowl and field well and have a manageable total to chase, then off to a good start. Just a question of going through the basics and finishing the game off, something which we're currently incapable of doing. Once Steel and Short have gone its game over. Choking is the best way to describe it.
Actually I don't mind if the likes of Adair are given a chance. They have to start somewhere and let's face it their not keeping a middle order, match winner out the side as we don't have any.
Exactly what we did at the end
But surely Eckersley/Robson/Burnham (where was Lees?) would have been better suited in such a high profile must-win game.
Lees and Raine were appointed long before North took up post.I'm all for giving different players a chance. I'm reading the Durham Facebook page and folk already questioning Franklin and North.... Pardon my language but fuck off eh? They've been at the club 5 mins. Comments like "What has North done".... Well he attracted Short to the club, oversaw the club host several top class World cup games which earned the club 2 million and tonight attract a record crowd and overhauled the coaching staff which was never going to bring instant success, at least he's had the bottle to get rid of the old guard who were past their sell by date. All positive ambitious stuff. Franklin.... I'm happy what I've seen this season, I'm genuinely interested to know what folk expected this season when I see people questioning him on Facebook already. The one day cup was a massive improvement on last season, S.Steel a massive plus and young bowlers given game time, very unfortunate not to qualify. County Championship I feel we are doing well, 11 points off promotion with 3 to play, not the worst outcome after recent years, last season especially utter dross. T20 pffft not too fussed, good to see Scott Steel doing well but the batting in T20 I agree is a concern Steel and Short excluded. You've got to rotate the squad at times and the effort the lads put in Vs Leicestershire I was amazed to see Carse playing tonight.
