Takeover Rumours

Your point is not valid in the slightest. These are financial investors not people who run football clubs. They want a long term return. It will be part of any deal that the current incumbents stay for at least a fixed period, in order that they have some meat in the sandwich and more importantly that they deliver against what their new partners have invested. What this does is give us increased financial bargaining power in terms of obtaining credit and guaranteeing financial payments.

If this comes off, it will be an absolute master stroke. Charlie and Stewart will be in demand for every “financially constrained” football club around. This will be some turnaround and if brought to resolution those two deserve to reap all the rewards that will be on the table. I hope that Ellis gets some return through this as he really has assisted in this respect, regardless of the complete mess at that we found ourselves in.
Don't get me wrong I'm certainly not knocking this and after speaking to @Grumpy Old Man it would actually appear to be the best course of action as there will be less constraints than if it was in MSD's portfolio.

I feel a bit like that Only Fools episode where Del-boy and Rodders sat in the three wheeler having just sold an antique for a fortune ... this time next year we will be millionaires ... and it happened ... please let it happen to our club ... ALS STID and WMS ... but mostly as ever ITHICS

That's the confirmation I have been waiting for Dill lad😏
I can only hope this is the start of a new era for our club mate. Better times. Optimism. Hope that one day other teams will come to Sunderland with fear and trepidation. Times when we can play anyone without anxiety. Times when we can play anyone and they’ll know they’ve been in a game of football.

Yes - said we shouldn’t be excited because we laughed at Newcastle earlier when they were meant to be being took over.
Not quite.

I asked if we were allowed to get excited as we had posters letcuring into the small hours about how the mags shouldn’t get carried away, how any new owners could end up being worse and why would any rich tycoon want to saddle themselves with a club from an area like ours.

It seems it’s fine for us to do so though but not for the mags so I had my question answered!

Must have a word with the Mods, what we need as well as a 'like' button is a 'pelters' button, save loads of time would that.
