Takeover Rumours

What are you talking about? Do you honestly believe that there’s no investment imminent? Do you really think this whole Dell link is the brainchild of some journo hack?

Like I said, we really shouldn’t be getting carried away but surely even you can see that something is happening this time.

How many times have I been in this position though and nothing came of it. Once bitten, twice shy.

If it does happen, just watch the many knackers on here spouting off about buying Premier League first teamers on big wages for big fees totally IGNORING the fact we are bound by financial fair play (or whatever the equivalent is down in the depths of the EFL).

And also ignoring good, old fashioned common sense!

Ok I've missed half of this thread and not going through 40 odd pages. I've got 2 questions

A) how credible is it that it is Dell (or anyone with serious financial clout)?
B) if it is really happening how far along is it?

Would seem the club have briefed RR, The Echo & ALS and let them break the news. So you would assume the club are confident it’s quite far down the road.

The Times also had a piece on it last night.

In my opinion Donald was only ever looking to make a quick buck. He's wealthy, but not football club wealthy, and didn't have the ability to put in a huge amount of his own money. If this deal goes through, it's a win-win for him and the club.

Dammit!

To be fair he has always stated this.

Joking apart do many of us want to become a Man City? I look forward to having a stable and successful club with a team that plays good entertaining football that's known to be able to give any Club from here or abroad a run for its money.

What a joy it will be to look at a fixture list and never again have to write off a quarter of the games before a ball has been kicked. I want Man City and the rest of them to say..... "Oh bugger we've go Sunderland at the SoL next week".

I don't want a Club whose only ability is to spend daft amounts of money and buying players that no one else could ever hope to afford - were's the fun in that?
I would seriously be over the moon with a Wolves level club and they seem to be ran very well too. Fair play to them for that.

Reported by the FT, that’s pretty reliable I would say

Sounds like it won’t be finalised in time to financially impact this window BUT it could give us some clout when looking to bring players in over the next couple of weeks.

Who wouldn’t want to say I was playing there when it all took off at Sunderland?
