Listening to the podcast and what he was saying about Madison I’ve got a sneaky feeling we’ll be seeing him in a Sunderland shirt after 2nd September. Feel free to bookmark
He said he plays in McGeady's position and no other club thought he was worth the money. I'll have a bet with you.

Except he doesn’t, as far as I’m aware he can play on the right That’s why I think we’ll see him here in September, I don’t bet mate as I’m crap and I enjoy spending my hard earned cash on alcohol

Don’t think he started their first game, came on a sub. Their chairman is playing games with the price they’ve put on his head, 1 year left on his contract and a £2.5 million release clause. Definitely won’t get that price, time for Stewart to do some wheeling and dealing.
£1.5 miles and he's ours is would like to think :))

he "can2 play on the right..but doesnt normally..he normally plays in mcgeadys positon..

paying a huge fee for someone then asking them to play out of positon is silly..

we have three right backs at the club..mcloughlin should be first choice, onien second choice and flanagan third choice, you wont get a better reserve right baxck than onien or a better third choice one than flanagan..
mcloughlin was right back on the league one team of the season last time he was here..

so we need a left back for sure..we have lots of cbs would be nice to have another but hard to see one being available thats an upgrade on willis..

tyhink its a release clause in his contract..if someone bids a certain amount he can go..but its a very large amount of money..£2.5m..
Way to much, £1.5 mil max and I think he'll be ours...deadline day perhaps as I don't think Peterborough would risk waiting until January

Flanagan was a utility player who was left back cover at Burton. I know you keep repeating he's a right back, but he isn't.

McLaughlin might have been right back in team of the season last time he was in this league but the I'd guess Grigg had been about four times. That doesn't means he's a) good enough now or b) doesn't need cover if he is.

O'nien is allegedly a midfielder.

Not sure why you think I'd want an upgrade on Willis at centre back. I'd prefer someone of quality able to command the area to compliment him, because at his height he's going to find it hard to do so on occasions. As I said I'd quite like to move a couple of centre halves on, id like to do that so we had competition there and cover. Currently Ozturk is the best of the rest and I'm yet to be really convinced.

Why on earth do we need more defenders? Another LB is essential but anything other than that should be to add something to our attack.

If Flanagan was ever a left back, then he must have had his left foot amputated since that time, because he was reluctant to use the prosthetic that has replaced it when he played against Oxford.

I agree with you regarding the need to bring in a centre-back who would complement Willis. I suspect that we may not be able to off-load any of Loovens, Baldwin or Flanagan, because I’m not sure why anyone would want them. But, for the same reason, that is why a better centre-half is required.

I just want to see a player good enough in quality to get us promoted and from a tough hard league like League One. I don't give a rats arse about specifics. Till we find our first player who can do that we ought to prepare for the possibility of a 3rd season in L1.

Problem is are we big enough and good enough to attract such players?

Need a winger. Only options we had second half when Mcgeady and Maguire were knackered were a striker and a left back.
I think we have enough in our squad. McGeady, Gooch, Maguire and Watmore

Also Benji can play there as can Embleton. I even think Hume would be more suited to LM than LB at present.
