Do the Mags never think, when they're demanding Ashley sells, that no one wants to buy ...
... there wasn't a queue of buyers when he arrived.

I know they like to pretend he doesn't really want to sell but perhaps he really does.

Apart from the so called 'getting the club & fans' I wonder what the adoration of Benitez was all about ...

... It couldn't have been the football, that was pretty dreadful.

"Success by Association". Its a technique, bereft of their own success, that the Mags have mastered- aided and abetted by their 'scared to criticise' populist media as if somehow merely having them employed inflates their own major Honours list from it's 1955 level.

Shearer - PL medal winner - at Blackburn
Robson - Multi-Trophy winning manager - for 4 clubs in 4 countries, as well as a success for England
Benitez - "World Class Manager", clean sweep of Euro Cups- at a string of other clubs
Bruce - top ten PL manager - at Sunderland.

Do they have good intentions though or is it purely attention seeking?
Ashley couldn’t have possibly kept Benítez despite his pathetic attempts to curry favour with the fans after he dashed for the cash.
He’s then went and broke your transfer record twice in last 6 months.
You’s don’t have a prayer of breaching the top 6 so you are in same boat as everyone outside of it and i don’t see their fans making a nuisance of themselves outside shops or stalking owners when out for a meal.
Days of competing with big boys are long since gone. It seems you lot are struggling to realise it.

We pretty much know where we are and hope to get to,the vast majority do,some think cos you get a big crowd that we should be top 6, the frustration was that from the start Ashley's "model" let it slip, yes we "were" a top 10 side for many seasons before him and that's what big beef we have, lots of the infrastructure needs investment he cares not one jot.He has spent money but at the wrong time and the wrong managers in my view ,money spent means nothing if those buying get it wrong, look at the team Sunday we looked the worst of them all .
I do think they have good intentions, you must know to stop going to the match in truth is very hard to do,I really missed it Sunday, fruitless I know but my choice mate.

I have zero context for how far behind Newcastle's facilities are, other than that Chronicle piece from the SJP groundsman/head of facilities saying he didnt have the funds to do everything needed.

So, genuine question, is it that bad?

Fair do's mate good on you. The "Magpie Group" et al can shout at shops, walk in/walk out and boycoutt all they like, it won't make a scrap of difference. You haven't made a song and dance about it and just stopped paying money to a regime you do not agree with if more of you lot did the same it would hurt Ashley where it hurts him most - the pocket.

If Sunday was anything to go by protests have no chance, some fans were even making wanker signs to the protesters, not needed but shows how some just wont be moved .Bit sick of hearing it all,its not helping, if you dont like it dont buy the product. Shit times as ever

Tbf I only know what I pick up on, Rafa who knows better than you or me indicated it needed upgrades and if the manager wants money for capex it usually means work needs done.
It's all about progress, stand still and you drop in most business, Ashley should know this.

Ha'way man lads, surely you can see he's taking the piss. It was as all about money and he wanted to be second only to Guardiola with regards to wage to stay with you. The bit about staying despite the relation as if he was doing you a favour on his £6m per year and when he f***ing helped relegate you.
He's a wrong 'un.

On this: living and working in Newcastle i obviously know quite a few of you. Have to say, the ones I know who go there's literally no chance of them staying away because of a boycott. More chance of them drifting through changing family commitments or apathy. E.g the ones i know are mainly late 20s and on the cusp of starting families which might put paid to attending for a few years at least.

Its whether young'uns take their place in the current climate or not I guess. I suspect they will.

If you really want to sell something market forces come into play. Doesnt matter whether football club. House. Car. Pint beer. That Ashley has not found a buyer confirms he is asking more than anyone wants to pay.

What would actually make Newcastle fans happy under Ashley?

Are you expecting him to spend his own personal fortune to achieve a few extra places in the league or what?

Am honestly confused as my mag mates just talk in riddles now like.

Oh they will, it's just the way we are at both clubs,I went through Bobby Shinton and some shite,Kk days etc so I've seen ups and downs, the PL brand has changed the fanbases, the experience of the 80,s and 90,s were great days home and away, now its lifeless at grounds,I bet many Sunlun fans are enjoying the away days but not the home ones, look winning changes the fans feelings in truth and we just dont win many,I enjoyed the Champo so much better than PL,all usually is forgiven with a winning team and that's how fickle fans can be.Me I've just had enough with the shite surrounding us.Ive no doubt if we win I will creep back like a hypocrite.

Upgrade the academy and training facilities and have a plan to develop players and youth with a competent manager in charge, not some absolute dribbler who was struggling in his first game at the weekend.

Don't buy players for the sole purpose of selling them in the future no matter how unbalanced it makes the squad.

Abolish restrictive policy of not buying anyone who is 29 or above.

Just steady visible progress with a semblance of ambition. You know, like most sporting institutions...

With all due respect very few clubs are ran like that even though it seems the sensible approach to it all.

It costs money, and money am not sure Ashley has.

Which current clubs don't develop their training facilities?
Which current clubs haven't had a steady conveyor of talented youth players coming through in the last five years that are still plying their trade in the top division?
Which current clubs have appointed a bog-standard Championship Manager?
Which clubs ignore the needs of the squad to buy players purely for sell-on value?
Which clubs don't sign anyone that is 29 or older?
Which clubs don't appoint managers that are forward thinking and want to take the club forward and are ambitious to improve?

You suggest 'very few' so I'll be kind and say can you name 12 Premier League clubs that don't do any of the above. Surely 60% isn't unreasonable to ask.

It's pretty much only Newcastle United who tick every one of those boxes, isn't it?

Rafa didnt pitch his ambitions any higher than those of Everton Leicester Wolves. A crack at bottom end of top 10. If it is now accepted Ashley wont consider the investment required for that where are those clubs going right that Newcastle arent? Are they simply working on a business model where personal fortunes are sustaining the whole edifice or have they found a smarter way than Ashley to run their clubs?
