If you’d told me a month ago Rafa was ducking off and Steve Bruce and Randy Carroll would be at the mags I’d have thought you were on Crystal meth

Best thing about current situation is Newcastle being a mediocre top flight team hoping to stay up is a regular occurrence since 1950s. Sunderland being a Third Division club in the same period is now starting to become a regular occurence.

Dear me, all you really have is being better than Sunderland

Shite but at least I'll see a fair few wins again

Big club mentality

Day after day trying to make themselves feel better on here.

If they were winning trophies and challenging at the top they'd be too busy on their own forums.

It's pathetic, they know it but they just can't stop.

Did you partake in the celebrations when Pardew brought you those top finishes? The French day?
How did Rafa get involved in the area with the fans? Please tell us. I genuinely wish to know because I can't remember seeing or reading anything about this. I know he 'got' you, that's all that was ever said.

Well Benitez left officially at the end of June, and Bruce was first linked around the 8th of July, and with Carroll being a free agent it wasn't that much of a stretch.

That's still mad nearly ten years on. Being in a hurry to sell Henderson might be the most Sunderland thing of all time.

Bruce wrote allover it, previously confirmed by Alex Ferguson in his autobiography saying he had been trying to sell him for ages. The fact Quinn recently confirmed it was Bruce who also asked Quinn about selling Bent if they received a good offer and he had the Villa offer lined up shows the fat one will sell his own grandmother (if she was still alive) to have another roll of the dice.

Love Mr Chuckles. He got to see his fair few wins. Literally. Which is what happens when you finish 5th in Third Division.

You have got a decent winger in Reiver.

Imagine thinking your a geet big club who haven't won a major trophy for over 50 years and the only thing that makes them feel a geet big club is the fact that they get 50000 for home games
but this season they might have loads of empty seats for home games. I wonder if they sing their famous song they sing at away grounds you know the one

Tha here tha there tha every f***ing where empty seats empty seats

Haway man, you spend hours researching your 'facts' and posting your essays.

One article doesn't prove anything, in general he rarely 'engaged' and you know it.
And, how is he engaging with the supporters? It's a staged publicity event with the cameras in place.
So, if there's no cameras, it's not engaging? Well then, anecdotally I know he's visited community projects, charities and hospital wards in Newcastle and around the area. But I've no idea if there were cameras or journalists so while they pass Reiver's legitimacy test, they fail his evidentiary test. What a conundrum

I don't particularly understand this theme that if a manager is taken to by the Newcastle fans, some sunderland fans spend hours of their lives trying to paint him in a bad light, but if Newcastle fans don't take to a manager (or owner), some sunderland spend hours of their lives defending him. I get there's rivalry and bias, but it's just entirely bizarre behaviour. e.g. If Bruce wins over the fans, he'll be vilified on here and the Newcastle fans called fickle, if he doesn't win us over he'll be defended on here and the Newcastle fans called deluded. It's just a weird trope.

The fella that dropped his kegs and crimped out a chod on his seat, does he still get to the games? I can't imagine that ever being a popular seat at SOL
