The people saying they needed to shut up early on rightly pointed out that they'd be making a rod for their own back if things didn't go well and they suddenly went quiet. Turns out that's exactly what's happened too, what with "tactical twitter holidays" etc.
Amazing that this gets ignored.
We complain if a manager is honest and says we are relegation fodder, we complain if one of the board sets high expectations.
I am happy with the latter, Iam grown up enough to know he can’t guarantee it... but at least it’s a stated ambition and objective by which to judge our season by.
Excuse to have a pop at the fans again I see
There’s really not a cabal of fans.
The vocal support bounces off the performance on the pitch, that is a fact.
If the side had been having a go and creating chances it would have been bouncing in the final, instead JR and the players shit themselves and camped behind the ball to defend. That obviously creates nerves and there’s nothing to shout about.
This is the same as in the home games, the crowd react to the performances, it’s the same everywhere. Everyone talks about Anfield and their crowds etc but I was there when they beat us 2-1 when they were going for the title under Rodgers and I tell you what, it was silent until the 94th minute because they were shite and nervous.
Can’t believe the fans are coming in for stick for the vocal support, the level of support or anything like that.
People are that up the owners arse they’d (not you), they’d rather dig out their own rather than SD or CM
I can't argue with your point that the 2 Wembley performances were poor, but as so many had made the expensive trip down, why not vocally support the team to rev them up?? I've seen us and many other fans do it over many seasons.
I recall vividly being at Villa Park 80--81 and despite being 4 down, we sang solidly for the last 15 minutes pledging our love which even Barry Davies commented on. That's support and I'm sorry, our vocal support at both Wembley finals was piss poor and I like any other safc fan there that day was culpable.
he has invested heavuly in the sqaud...spent more than all the other teams combined, broke the league transfer record, highest budget ever seen in this league..We don’t complain if the board set high expectations though.
It’s the fact he set them then hasn’t invested anything into the squad, paid off the higher earners & done very little in the market to address last seasons issues. Also kept the manager who failed last year. He’s not going to get us to 100 points and the team is weaker than last year.
Bloke also said we would give it a right good go because we were in such a healthy spot with parachute payments etc & we clearly haven’t done that.
your the fans that go on about potentila..not me...i was at wembley..Ah ha!!!!

im probably afan more than a supporter...i certainly dont have football as as big a part of my life or identity as it is for you guys..but when the whistle goes and safc are playing its still the number one thing happening for me..So you're not one of us, not a supporter?
Thought so, your tone is contradictory and disingenuous. Think you need to stop it TBH and just be clear about your intentions.

im more a rue fa of safc than those (not you) who are eager to find the negative and are doing the bidding of peopletring to make safc fail..people with an agenda because they were made redundant or didnt get to buy the club off ellis..those people are the probelm...and the poepl who claim to be fans but never do owt for the club..You do well then, some would argue this forum is becoming your full time job given your post count on a daily basis. Now we know you're not one of us and a true fan it makes things easier TBH.
