The booing at full time

I can fully understand the frustration the fans are feeling.
It just seemed like nothing much has changed from the second half of last season.
The defence looked disorganised, there was little, or no creativity from the midfield, we were toothless in attack, and when we did manage to get forward down the wings, too many crosses were overhit, and sailed straight out of play, and into the fans in the South Stand.
Hume was run ragged, and looked dizzy at half time, and once again, too many high balls were lumped up in the direction of Grigg's head, and some of our players struggled to accurately, pass the ball to a colleague.
I remember us having only one half decent effort in the first half, a shot from outside the box which the keeper pushed away.
Oxford looked far brighter and played some decent stuff in the first half, and could consider themselves unlucky not to be three goals up by half time.
Ross, may well come up with a formula, that will see performances and results improve, though the worrying signs are, that he doesn't seem to be able to motivate his team, nor inspire them.
Can’t disagree with most of that mate.

Shouldn’t boo? I paid money to watch that shite...

I wouldnt boo if we had 11 players all trying for the win but at least half the team simply couldn’t be bothered today.
Honestly haven’t got a clue watch some fans watch , to say that they weren’t trying to win yesterday is just bollocks. We were camped in there half for most of the second half , just lacked composure in the final 3rd. Plus booin
Didn’t play badly??

Wow
Sorry but 2 nd half we dominated but lacked the composure in final 3 rd, I’ve watched is in the relegation season from the championship and the premiership that was playing badly

Booing thoroughly deserved. Penalty apart we didn’t have a shot. I don’t want us to accept being a league one club. We need to get back to the championship. Ross isn’t going to do it.

I don't disagree. You have the biggest support at this level. Biggest club? How does that help? Yes you willbeable to get some players to sign because of what could happen. But the most title wins over 100 years ago doesn't help the players on the pitch.

Yes I expected you to win yesterday. But your players are not miles better than those at all the other clubs. Effort counts for as much as anything else at this level. From what I read on here you was lucky to get a point with a dubious penalty yesterday. How can this correspond with walking this division?

Does it help the confidence of your players?

My point is that we should have that mentality as supporters and it’s not arrogant of us to hold that view. We shouldn’t accept mediocrity.

I pay money. I have a right to boo. It was shite.
They are all well paid, including the manager. If they are not up to the task, then admit it and walk away.
.. This .. Didn't boo myself, or applaud them off either, just sat stone faced with arms folded. But if you pay the money you get the choice imo ..

Think he deserves more than a game like

Aye but he had all of last season and I didn’t notice a difference in what was going on on the pitch yesterday. I’m hoping we will improve but last season has me sceptical.

Allardyce was very good for us. He gets high praise because he came in with us struggling (9th October he took over) and, from January, lost only 4 games out of 19, getting us 27 points. We were easily top ten on form from January onwards. That was a huge turnaround from what came before and, ultimately, what was to follow. He came in, assessed the situation, did well in the transfer window, made us hard to beat, got us wins against Everton, man United and Chelsea and kept us up. It's not really surprising that, especially bearing in mind what was to follow with Moyes, he's seen as something of a star!
I get what you are saying.

But you have a manager that only lost 6 league games out of 46. Yes there were too many draws, but is he scared to go for the win because of the stick he would get if you lost? And that is comingoff a disastrous season where you got relegated and having players not interested/good enough.

Well if these new players bed in and nothing improves.. then yes change may be required.

I’m not one to boo but I was extremely frustrated watching such an obvious tactical failure, especially when seeing it as a continuation of last seasons failures. I can certainly understand why fans would want to vent their displeasure and think they’re well within their rights to do so. Waiting till the end is much certainly better too.

But again any excuse to have a pop at fans.

I dislike it when my fellow supporters boo our own players. It does nothing for their confidence except break it.

Just like when sides go on a great run. No supporters on their back. They can play the football that they know they are capable of without worrying what the crowd will think if it goes wrong. But at the end of a great run you get a couple of bad results and the crowd gets on the backs of players. The way they play can change. The results change.

Do the players suddenly become crap or is there something else involved?

Arrogance is not having a clue about your opponents but expecting to beat them every game. It is as though some expect 46 wins from 46 games. You will also have the other side raising their game against yourselves.

That is the beauty of the game. Prem sides lose to lower sides each season. Anything can happen in any game. But some seem to expect a Division 3 side to always beat another Division 3 side. They don't expect players to have a bad day in the office. But the players are human.

If a post like that had been written my a Newcastle fan about the mags, we would rightfully have torn them apart.

Our facilities are the best and we have a decent budget, but we are also a club with a lot of high earners eating into that budget which more established clubs at this level do not have.
Good facilities also cost money which eats into the budget further. More established clubs have poorer facilities, but less overheads.

We need to accept we are a League One club again this season. Being arrogant and expecting to walk the league based on a fancy stadium, decent crowds and a mythical "good budget" will do us no favours

We should be up there fighting this season, like last season. But we have no god given right to it
There are only Watmore and Robson who are on contracts signed before the new regime took over. If there are a lot of high earners then Donald & co are almost entirely at fault for that.

Pretty much nails my feelings mate, spot on. Me and me mate spoke about the booing while walking towards the bridge and as I said to him, it isn’t something I would do and I’m a bit disappointed it’s happened already just one game into the season - but I can understand why based on what we saw because it seems we haven’t learned a thing. People are bound to be frustrated and rightly so because that just isn’t good enough yet again.

Hope to god Ross can sort it out but my hope is waning thinner and thinner to the point where it’s just about non existent.
