Just got this off a mate who has been a ST holder at Saddlers for many a year...

He was our best player, probably kept us up just about on his own the season before last when others had given up. Great attitude, loads of energy and technically very decent
With better players around him should be a great signing for you

I’m happy with that!

No signing is a guarantee. Even when we were in the prem signing players people knew and saw play regularly. All we have to go off until we see him here is what fans of the clubs were getting them from say.

What I’ve seen about this lad has all been positive (except a few who are angry at the clubs relegation or bitter about him leaving). The fact he was made captain at 21 speaks volumes about his character. Cautiously optimistic.

You have no idea if that is true, nobody knows enough about the players we’ve signed to make that judgement (except hopefully the recruitment team!).
And you put faith in our recruitment team do you?

I know he's been described as a holding midfielder by a number of media outlets and Walsalls forum. I know we've got an abundance of these already and i know he was playing for a team that finished in the bottom 3 last season. I personally think Robson with a bit of game time will be no worse than him.

walsalsl forum also had people saying he isnt holding bu had to last uear because of injuries and players being shite..
I will judge players by what they are like playing for us..

So has Ethan Robson, so do you think this kid is better than him?

I agree we need to judge him once he's played for us and i do hope i'm proved wrong.

I just think we need creative players in the side and this is where we should be focusing. I also don't think we needed to make dramatic changes yet again and just add one or two quality players in the final third and that would have been enough.

If he is full of energy and mobility he may be earmarked to play as one of the 3 centre backs with a license to bring the ball out of defence and join in with the midfield work when we are in posession.

Just a thought.

Not going by what i've read on their forum. They were claiming he's been average at best since he was made captain over the last 6 months. This was from posts prior to us signing him as well........you daft tawt.

Well I actually know real people who actually go to their games and have done for many years. I will take their views thanks

People like you who are always looking for the downside of everything are just, well sad really. Yep, sad is the word

I think you should keep those thoughts to yourself.

Willis is our more mobile and able CB mate.

Our midfield was crying out for more energy last season and you want to hoy him in defence

Pretty sure if you look at my posting history i'm anything but trying to knock the club and looking for a downside.

I'm actually quite upbeat about the team this year and think we have more than enough cover in midfield. I'd just rather give Robson a chance, than bringing in someone else.

I also think McGeough is going to be a standout player for us this year, so i'm not sure where all these CM's fit in?

If that's the case then Ross has blatantly been watching the Charlton tape. Was something Bielik could do for them. They started with 3 at the back against us then sacked it off and Beilik moved into midfield

Has Embleton not played most of his career in a more wide position?

I just don't want to see Honeyman playing that number 10 role where he offers absolutely fuck all. That is the key position we need filling and i don't think we have yet.
emblton could play 10...and anyway are we setting up in the role with a 10 like last seaosn? i thought they were setting up in a way that mcnulty would be the guy in the 10..playing a different role..

embelton played as widest odff a midfield three ;lat year i think..not as winger..

Yes but if everyone kept their thoughts to themselves, what future would this message board have ?

I don’t put a huge amount of faith in them no but I’m not going to provide an opinion on someone I’ve barely seen play. You think Robson will be no worse but you know nothing about Dobson, it’s just guess work and pointless.
