And he doesn't appear to be any better than Robson, power, mcgeough, leadbitter, onien and every other centre mid we have at the club.

The fans of a team who have just been relegated don't even rate him. Why does everyone think he's going to be better than the players I've just mentioned above?

Oh and cm is probably the last position we need players. We need some creativity and have done for the last 12 months
 


I like the way SAFC.com explain his career history. If he signed for West Ham in 2015 after spending 10 years at Arsenal he must have been around 7 years old when he signed for Arsenal if he is 21 now.

'Dobson started his career at Arsenal, spending a decade with the Gunners before moving to his boyhood club, West Ham United, in 2015.'

Possibly, but nobody on here including me knows what Dobson's ability is like. Not many of us will have seen him play apart from when we played Walsall, and you need to see a player more than that to form a proper opinion on their ability in my opinion. He's here now, let's wait and see how he does.

He probably was, nothing unusual in clubs signing up young kids these days.

Their fans are clearly bitter, because they were speaking highly of him before yesterday.

Also, did you not watch any of the games he played against us last season?
 
Really like the sound of this lad. Good age, good fee, room to improve, gives us a bit physicality in the middle, captained his club at 21. Hopefully a good signing

I usually just gan by the reaction of Pompey fans (they have a lot more recent experience at this level than us tbf). Willis and Dobson were decent players last few seasons accodring to a few of 'em. Seems that they're shit/nowt special now though cos they're signing for us. Probably means they're decent enough.

McGeouch's stock has risen considerably on here, hes now some sort of midfield dynamo.

Back to the real world hes some bog standard side ways and backwards player who was forth choice by a distance last season.

Yes and I wasn't blown away, I thought they were a horrible team that didn't play particularly good football.

I don't know how anyone at the stage can say he's better than what we've got. We're making the same mistakes and stockpiling the club with average players.
 
In my opinion one of the main reasons we lost out on promotion last season was because our central midfielders weren't mobile enough. If this lad can help us get out of this league it'll be money well spent...

Decent is nothing special, to be fair. Both are good players, but they're not going to suddenly transform your team.

You have no idea if that is true, nobody knows enough about the players we’ve signed to make that judgement (except hopefully the recruitment team!).
