others do have the expectation of promion..we arent the only ones expecting to get promoted next year..i pay five a side with a rotherham fan..he expects promotion..
we did blow eveyone away last season by spenidng more than every other team in the league combined and breaking the trasfer record..

Money spent on Grigg, Wyke and Baldwin. Two of which are certainly L1 players. Desperation seemingly made us pay over the odds for them, however we needed to get some players over the line. We didn’t have the luxury of building a squad of “free transfers” which would have seemingly made you happy.

Hopefully we’ll see more from the two strikers this year. That should be the difference between automatic and play off imo.

However back to the point, you can’t agree with Methvens “100 points” comments can you? They were unnecessary.

Again look at our squad objectively. We’re not “outstanding”. We lack balance, pace and athleticism.

No he hasn't. Matthews was replaced by McLaughlin and love was replaced by Willis. Dunne was replaced by Robson.

We are skint or maybe not willing to over spend which is fine by me. I would much rather we gained promotion through being creative and thinking outside of the box, using massive amounts of data or something new, however i just don't think we have the foresight or know how to do this.

the reality is 6 players have joined the first team squad...embleton,..the two new defenders..rpbson..the keepr from coventry and sammut...so two more gets you to 8..whether they are quality is different...but dont associated quality with cost a lot of money..

That's why Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar etc all cost money because as much as you hate to admit decent quality costs.

I agree. Think you have to gamble on youth or/and get very lucky in League 1 though for those qaulities. Although we could spend a fortune on Maddison if we shift another couple off the books. I think Ovideo should free up enough wage maybe.

If you also count all of the players who went away for a summer break the came back at the start of pre season we've actually signed 20+ players

To do that we need better players. It’s strange that in the past when we have improved certain weaknesses that results got better. I am not seeing that, simply replacing last year’s dross with next year’s dead wood. When will we ever learn?

Is he good enough? Are any of the younger players good enough? Do we have time to piss about with them. Do we actually want promotion. Not so canny leetle Soonlun’ at the moment!

I don’t think that Ross has it in him. There was plenty of need for change last season, it was plain to see but he just didn’t seem capable of making any change and appeared to have given up before the end.
