Seems right to me, Roy could be "the man" this summer. Dreading watching us trying to get Smith out for 2 months, hope the twat gets injured between now and the first test.

Hopefully Jofra makes the series, very special bowler this lad.

If they have any difficulty the answer is sitting and waiting .... send for Rushy.

He doesn't he just rate Foakes as a better gloveman. Which isn't an unreasonable view.

Find treatment of Foakes as odd to say the least. Did nowt wrong in Sri Lanka.

Everyone was crap with the bat in the West Indies

It is a little unjust on Foakes but I think he's only averaging 25 with the bat this season which might have swung it.

Don't think Denly is the answer, really think Sibley would have been worth a look as someone who's scoring big runs at the top of the innings whilst dropping anchor and allowing others to play around him.

Gregory is a good all-rounder but I suspect has been picked due to the obsession with having bowlers who can bat, rather than him offering us anything different.

I watched Sibley play for the Lions on Monday, and although he got some runs, he looked totally at sea and couldn't get bat on ball sometimes.

Foakes hasn't got a great average this year, but if not for him we'd have been battling it out with Notts - he's literally held our batting together. His runs have been far more valuable than his average.

Also interesting that the Lions batted him at 3..
