Aston Villa Splashing the Cash

they weren't

they did sign a few deaine day but the likes of Chambers, Mitrovic, Seri, Mawson etc were done early

They signed 5 players on deadline day. Including their record purchase.

Its not technically a loan but it is really, all but name. Low fee, buy back clause, even if other clubs are interested they would buy him back then sell him onto the highest bidder if theu dont want him back. Hes there to get games for the work permit. Go on the villa board every single one saying its pretty much a loan. But i guess you know best , yeah?

No? We are paying £ 15 million. It's filling a gap for is while the only way City (a CL club) gets him back is that he is a tremendous success and they are willing to pay us a sum where we most likely triple our money. If you think this is a loan you can't really understand the difference. CL clubs have operated like this for years, especially Barcelona.

if you really understood FFP you'd know that no your owners ca't just drop money into the club

that is one of the main things FFP stops

Thing is I don't have to, like I already pointed out the club has experts on FFP already on the payroll.

No, the alternative would be to use the premier league money to rebuild infrastructure, repay debt, improve training facilities and the ground while ensuring that if you were relegated you not only had the parachute payments to keep you afloat and therefore better placed to challenge for a promotion that was built on secure foundations, but that the club was also financially secure going forward.

Spending hundreds of millions when your manager is probably going to be sacked early doors because of poor results is a fools errand.

We were in a position where we could spend. We had the other stuff sorted to a sufficient degree with new owners. What we didn't have were players. Not sure why this is so hard to grasp.

And the amibition from the club is a bit higher than you clearly would have been.

For what it's worth Deano will never be sacked early doors. Just won't happen, whether you would like it or not. There's a new long term thinking Villa board.

and yet you still nearly got bankrupted by it?

some expert
I know this is hard to understand for you, but he was hired after that mismanagement took place.

wjhich one did he make?

I would assume EFL FFP rules as that's where you were when he was hired?

But those rules are totally diferent to the Premier league ones

then UEFA have yet another set

PL and Championship are virtually identical. The only dffierence is that PL clubs are allowed slightly higher losses (£2m/season). It's L1 and L2 have a different form, based on a salary cap as a % of income.

So would not buying anyone. The play off winners traditionally end up being relegated so don’t knock us for having a go.

Well you’re hardly likely to say anything positive are you?

Your bitterness is understandable.

Nothing to do with bitterness, I'd say the same if it was Norwich or Sheff Utd, the amount you have spent on players who are unproven at PL is idiotic.. 20mill for a player who has played less games in 5 years than Jack Wilshire? ... You may as well have just bent over for Bournmouth.

Sturridge last 5 years- 111 games - average 22.2 games a season
Carroll last 5 years - 102 games - average 20.4 games a season
Wilshire last 5 years - 99 games - average 19.8 games a season
Mings last 5 years - 40 games - average 8 games a season

so he is more than twice as bad as even the most injury prone players

Villa staying up means more chance of the scum going down, I think they’ll be ok but it just shows how bad football has got when you look at the money they’ve spent relative to what they’ve bought .... not one signing you can say with confidence will be any good.

Its a loan all in writing, if city want him back theu will buy him back, even just to sell him for more, my guess is 20 million they can buy him back. Pep rates him very highly. You wont treble yoyr money daft sod, he may be worth that amount but city will resign him to sell him. City are no mugs

Don't care too much about Villa one way or another. You could argue they are rebuilding a squad which had a lot of dross in it. If it comes off they'll be happy. But we've see before, too many changes, and too many strangers on the pitch is a bad mix in the PL. 4th bottom will be success this season for Villa.

Is Mings not over his injury now though considering out of those 40 games, he played 15 games after Jan this year?

What does that even mean? We got cash to spend, we needed a bunch of players and we signed them. What's the alternative? Say "No, we'd rather stay in the championship"?

People are just jealous because we are stuck at the arse end of the football league without a pot to piss in.
