Christ we've all got concerns and we know the lad has limits, but the reaction to this tells me the mentality is that we're fucked before a ball is kicked.

Ross’s thoughts - Honeyman shone as captain last season :eek: WTF

Trips up at the first hurdle this season

Ross out before a friendly played, record even for a Sunderland manager

Because it means the manager isn't learning from last season's mistakes.

I'm not talking about that, marra. It just feels like everyone has already made their minds up that we're screwed. I cut Ross slack based on what he came into. I've said on here I will judge him on his reaction to how we finished last season. However I will support the team first.
We aren’t screwed, we’ll just be relying on other players to carry him and get the job done despite him. We’ll have a much better chance if Honeyman isn’t part of the team. Supporters want the club to do well and get promoted, if they see decisions being made to hinder this then they are entitled to get annoyed by it.

I hope we are all wrong about him

In matters concerning football, the team (for which read, the club, SAFC) always comes fust for me & always gets my full support. It is the one constant, amidst the inevitable changes in personnel from time to time.

People are, of course, entitled to their opinions, but many expressed on this forum are stated in such strident, absolute terms that they suggest powers of knowledge & insight on the part of the maker that transcend human capability. Thus, it would appear that either we find ourselves surrounded by multitudinous superhumans, or else there may be reason to suspect that much of what is said is, in fact, little more than mindless, speculative tripe. We must each decide which we think the more likely.

Haway Georgie lad, show the knockers up.

Goalscoring midfielder who puts a shift in every match and tries to play football in the opposition half. I would play him deeper in a midfield tandem with McGeogh and with Maguire, O'Nein or Embleton ahead of him but hes more than good enough for a top team in the division we are in.

Local lad, Goal scorer, grafter, passionate about the club. Lad should be a cult hero on here not a target for abuse.

Spot on.

Big mistake by Ross sticking with him as Captain, it virtually guarantee's Honeyman in the first 11 and probably means we're not looking for that No.10 we are all craving.
This.

If Honeyman is in the no10 role it will show Ross has learnt nothing from last season. I really hope Im wrong but if he continues with this formation Ross will be looking for a new job by the end of September.

Well he's either starting in the No.10 role or on the right wing but he's simply not good enough for either.

Just have to hope he proves us wrong.

I feel like sorry for the kid when he plays. Not a sniff at league 1 level, I’d probably just retire and become a bin driver or something.
