CC: Leicestershire v Durham

It jagged in quite sharply off the seam. Hardly out trying to slog but missing a straight one.

Watched it again, it wasn't that sharp, and was a carbon copy of the previous delivery which he middled. He played down the wrong line.

Same old story, 3 wickets for the price of 1. Dig in man.

Middle order has been shocking

Burnham, Clark and Trevaskis doesn't fill you with any confidence.

Clark has done nothing to warrant his continued selection and Trevaskis should not be batting above Raine or Eckersley for me.

Problem is do Richardson and Poynter come in and do anything different.

Mind you'd like to think they are desperate to have a chance to change their fortunes.

What's the craic with both Steels? Obviously Cameron out of sorts, but do they not fancy trying Scott after a promising performance with the bat in the List A stuff.

IIRC Poynter can't play unless Bangers is injured as he's now classed as an overseas player.

Richardson was in great form in the RLC (unlike Clark who was shocking), surely deserves a run. Adds some experience.

Maybe my opinion of ‘sharp’ is different to yours. Will you agree that it didn’t travel on the same line it had come from?

I tend to agree, but I wouldn’t move either of Eckersley or Raine up the order - it’s more that we haven’t got anyone more suitable to bat in that position, than those lads are batting too low down.

It did, but not sharply and was a carbon copy of the previous ball which he middled, like I said. IIRC he re-marked his mark between deliveries.

I don't have any beef with Burnham but thought that was a poor dismissal.

Oh yeah ECB doing their level best to make Ireland uncompetitive so they can steal the next Morgan :lol:

Even though I imagine this is part of the ICC's ruling to allow Ireland test status. Any excuse to knock the ECB

I'd suppose Ireland having Test status is within the scope of the ICC. But number of overseas I'd guess was part of the 'rules of the competition' which would be under the control of the ECB. Not that I'm complaining, it is what it is. It's all a bit strange.

Poynter is British, born and brought up in London but counts as Irish because he played a Test and because of the ICC and ECB rules. This application seems odd. You could say he has more right to play than Archer or Jennings. Not that it matters much, except to Poynter because he misses out.

Daft attempt at a run

Absolutely pointless run out when Clark was just getting settled. Trevaskis seemed to call it, he's been involved in a few run outs.

Just checked: ruling comes into place this September, so he can play, but presumably has no future at Durham after that.
