Which is exactly why they get more injuries and they have more of an impact on performance.

As in any professional sport. If doesn't take much to strain/tear something if everything is tuned to its absolute maximum. And the impact that has on being able to perform/compete is huge.

That's not to say that modern day footballers aren't soft as shite a lot of the time and roll around for nothing which drives me crazy. But the increase in injuries, need for bigger squads etc. is exactly because the standards are so high now.

In order to compete you need to be fully fit.
Yeah you are correct, I kind of already knew the answer to be fair, I always think of it like a stretched elastic band, today's players are very stretched and doesn't take much to snap them, where as days gone, they were not so have a lot of give. Plus it was a mans game back then

Do you not want your Chairman to do the same?

I don't know what the income level is in League 1 but it cant be very high, so (although do you still have a parachute payment?) you will require investment from your Chairman will you not?
Not really, personally I think all clubs should be made to live within their means and be forced to ensure that the books are balanced each season. It’s supposed to be a competition, but if an owner simply becomes a sugar daddy and bank rolls the club to buy trophies, then that spoils it for other clubs who then have to take on huge debts to compete. Obviously bigger clubs will always have more money, but it still allows other clubs to potentially grow and compete.

very few do compete, that's the problem. I'm probably the exception though, I've given up and got myself a season ticket at my local Northern League team instead, far more enjoyable
There’s only seven or eight teams who genuinely compete now tbh. The rest of us a resigned to a life of mediocrity.

The utter guff in the rags simply beggars belief ' he fell in love with one of sports great underachievers' (so they should be achieving more ? 'He had a very different vision for NU than the owner, even if his own disregard for two cup campaigns last term were distinctly Ashley-esque' ??? (So even that wasn't his fault) 'The love affair between Benitez and the supporters was genuine and deep-rooted' (how the fuck was any 'love' deep rooted considering he was there 5 mins and achieved fuck all ?) 'So the most decorated manager in the Magpies history ' (bit of poetic licence using his history anywhere else but there !) 'but the Toon army will love him forever because like them, he knew what NU could become' (so let's pretend that if he'd stayed they would be one of the biggest clubs, which could apply to ANY club spending the amount of money he wanted !):oops:

Never a more sensible message posted, have a like.

Ive got it on good info that they want Dyche.
These managers that do OK at smaller clubs can't always cut it where expectation levels are higher.
Hope he goes there.
