Craig Hope has his tongue so far up Benetiz's hoop that he can lick his lips for him

Article in the Fail claiming FSW knew nothing of the announcement and was only told by a friend when the announcement came out

Several outlets reporting the same.

Lee Clarke interviewed saying 'we' Walled class manager mentioned saying how well he's done to keep them in the PL ?! funnily enough that's not good enough for clubs like Brighton and Southampton when it comes to managers who spend less

Think Hughton spent more at Brighton than Benitez did at Newcastle, even if you start the time period from when Benitez took over

brighton performed miracles continuously avoiding relegation, hughton was sacked yet no national out cry

no he really didnt

Sky sports comparing net spend with teams like Stoke, Cardiff and Fulham ffs.
Do they not realise if these teams don't bounce back they will be fucked after their expensive gamble.

Also comparing against Man city and Liverpool ffs.

Apparently the EFL have been warning that points deductions for FFP breaches will be incoming for some clubs. Watch this space.

A team good enough to win the title and he nearly took them down.
Yes he did but at the end of that season they survived by hitting the form that carried through to the next season and won them the league. I agree Ranieri did remarkably well to keep the form up of the entire season but Pearson doesn't get the credit he deserves in building that team

You know what net spend really means? It means you constantly spend more on players than you claw back in sales. Our net spend under Short was something like £240m. Much good it did us. What Ashley does is refuse to spend stupid money on 30 years olds who go on a free 2 or 3 years later. Huge net spend to improve league position is the economics of the madhouse. Every one place improvement in League position brings in a extra £2m in PL money. That's £10m for 5 places, but you want Ashley to spend £100m+ doing it. Irrational. The ideal net spend is zero and to maintain you desired league position with it.

If you have a net spend of £100m every year, that means that over 10 years, £1bn has to be found from somewhere. Here's a hint - selling out a ground won't do it.
You're wasting your time mate, net spend is all what counts in their tiny minds.

They’ve spent a lot more than them in the last two seasons like but not the last three. Brighton’s spending has been obscene.

But this is why fans of other clubs seem to accept the mags version of events. They don’t know what Newcastle spend and recoup every window cos they don’t care. Just like us with Brighton. All they hear is whinging mags bleating about how he’s had no money and it becomes the accepted truth.

Is that right? Not that it’ll affect us like ....

It's the Championship. No-one there is making a profit, and there's some seriously dodgy stuff (like Derby doing a sale and leaseback of Pride Park to the owner, which Villa complained about) to try to stay within the loss limits. And some of the wage ratios are pushing 100% of turnover. From the outside, the division looks completely out of control.

Brighton in their promotion season spent £7m. Newcastle spent £55m.
Over the three season period Hughton has spent £139m to Benitez's £133m

Ah, right, wages. Never took that into account tbh.
Appreciate the explanation.
