One of the things from that article is that if he goes to China it’s for the wrong reasons, because he’s going for money, yet it says Ashley should offer him more money, in that case if he signs he’s staying at the Mags for money, so surely that’s for the wrong reasons too
According to the the article they offered him bonus related increments, but then won't give him the tools (in his eyes) to achieve the bonus.
Both parties are clearly poles apart and won't be willing to bend.
If he wants to try and win stuff and do well, that's great, try to appease him, club does well everybody is happy.
But if he does end up going to China, it's a bit like when top players started going to Anzhi in Russia "for the challenge".

When he finally wrote his article, there’s this little quote...

“Those who own football club should have a duty of care, they should be concerned with the happiness of fans, they should give them what they want, but Ashley’s mind simply does not work that way.”

Totally disagree Luke. The fault will be totally with Ashley. The toon are potentially the biggest club in English football if not Europe, we need Rafa

I mean it could be an Safc fan pretending to be a Mag but from experience it's just as likely to be a real Mag.

MOTD Facebook page ran a story about Longstaff linked with Man Utd the other day. One of the commenting Mags (from Newton Aycliffe) said why would Longstaff leave for Man Utd when Newcastle will be bigger than them in a few seasons after the takeover.

Unbelievable Jeff

This. The man has no ambition left, or he would have left long ago. He'll be hoping Ashley offers him a nice new contract to see out his days as a manager doing the easiest job he's ever had.
Or he could fuck off to China for the reportedly £12m he's been offered

Yeah I picked up on that as well. What the fans want and what a club needs are 2 completely different things. As far as I can really see the main gripe with Ashley is that he hasn't panned out being the billionaire owner they expected in the fact he hasn't thrown all his money down the drain. He's spent when he's had to spend but as a rule he's kept a tight hold of the purse strings to make sure they haven't ran up unmanageable debt
