When was the last time a Newcastle manager was in a position to sign a player? Thought these were all done for him, scouted and signed? Could be wrong like. But where did it all go wrong for Newcastle. Likes of tiote cabaye and the Dutch fella who plays for Liverpool now. Very good reasonably cheap players.

Yes. If they get mega rich new owners in, they could attract, say, Mourinho.

If Rafa stays with new owners and spunks the cash, the pressure will be on him. Do you honestly think he 100% wants to be there? He twists and moans on every window, while touting himself about, he will only stay if nothing better comes along.

All he’s got to do is keep them floating above water but your comment of being the ‘only’ thing keeping the club together is laughable.

I could be wrong but didn’t Rafa bring in his own scouts as part of him having a say in transfers?

'IF' they get new owners. If they don't without Benitez regardless of if you rate him or not they are starting from scratch with no manager and any new manager will have a completely different way of doing this. It will unsettle players. Losing Benitez will compelely unsettle the fans, protests will start again, the club will be in a mess. Your holding onto a takeover that hasn't happened. That would be a completely different spin on things but as things stand they would lose Benitez and probaly bring in an average manager or start the season with a caretaker manager. And by the only thing holding the club together it's not laughable as other than a takeover that's all their fans have to hang onto and any new manager than comes in won't be able to do a better job than him in their eyes.

It’s panning out like a Mexican stand off, who blinks first scenario. Benitez knows he has the supporters behind him but Ashley doesn’t want to lose face. I can see the takeover coming off but whether that includes your manager I have my doubts.

I doubt it! It would be class tho.

I can remember laughing when they brought Pardew in, a year or so later he had them on the verge of qualifying for the Champions league while taking them to the quarters of the Europa league.

Id rather better the devil you know. As you say, each to their own opinion, I reckon even with a takeover and Rafa giving more money to spunk, itll still be midtable mediocre, boring as fuck football.
