Latest boxing crack

The fact he fought Wilder before he was fit has skewed people's expectations. He fought Wilder and realised he needed more time to get back to fitness. That's aside from the TV deal.

Can somewhat understand that but at the same time his performance against Wilder showed that he's still the number 1 heavyweight in the world in spite of all of his issues and there's no excuse for the number 1 in any division being in against someone so hopelessly out of their depth.

That doesn't mean he is fit enough yet mate. He himself, along with everyone who really knows boxing knows Fury is the best boxer, but people need to see the Wilder fight for what it was - an audacious sidetrack from the comeback plan. Just because he won doesn't mean the rest of the comeback plan goes out of the window.

Remember his whole set up from coach, training partners, promotional team, press obligations etc are all different now. It's all part of the acclimatisation.

Yes Schwarz is a disappointing opponent but given that Fury has demonstrated that he will take the biggest challenges in the sport highlights that he's just sticking to the plan and getting fit.

I have just watched the Fury fight. Schwarz doesn't have much about him but Fury did what he needed too, his movement looked good and he was sharp. If Wilder isn't next for him I hope he atleast fights a top 10 fighter next rather than just a keep busy fight.

I spent a couple of hours skimming this thread last night. There seems to be a lot of knowledgeable boxing fans on here.

Perfect statement from Tyson. From a boxing and profile perspective.

Looked amazingly sharp tonight aswell. Very excited to see how he progresses next fight.

I believed beforehand he would have aj in the foetal piston after 7 rds. I now believe 6.

Wilder - still scares the shot out of me with that Insane power but make fury a strong fav.

Btw kid Galahad is just awful,Awful to watch. Thank fuck Warrington nicked it.

It's not. That's opponent is pure trash. The fight literally showed this in real terms too. They will even get another fight in before the wilder rematch with wilder. Boxing politics. Killing the sport

What will the excuses be when he doesnt even fight wilder next ?
They will definitely get another fight in before Wilder considering Wilder is fighting Ortiz next.

Just seen that the plan is to get him back out in September. Hopefully it'll be Pulev with him also being with Top Rank these days

There's mismatches then there's that. That was Danny Garcia vs Rod Salka levels of atrocious and thankfully just as brief
Extreme to say the least......Tyson looked another level of sharpness, when he went southpaw he looked beautiful.

He dealt with him like a world class pro - and as I said an overall brilliant job bring him to American homes on espn

Great job from frank and bob.

If it was such a big mismatch how come no one claimed this prior to the show?
Fury will never be fully accepted by some due to his background not his boxing ability.

I call it the ‘khan’ effect .

Travel to the lions den to take on the best yet still get constant shit.

Of maybe boxing fans or more the ‘sports’ fans are just impatient.(I hope)

Annoying thing is, it wasn’t in ESPN, but the online subscription channel. I pay a fortune for all these garbage channels and then when something I want to see is on they shunt it off onto bloody ESPN “plus”!
