Didn't we initially suspend him when charged and him and his lawyer met club officials and spun them a yarn about pleading not guilty and having proof it was a teenage infatuation?
All so he could continue playing and earning.

The only saving grace is apparently that 'defense trick' of pleading not guilty in the hope the stress of giving evidence makes people drop the case and then pleading not guilty the day before trial is well known.
And judges are allowed to sentence them to longer in jail because of it.

For a start he isn’t a ‘known paedo’ now unless you know better than the physchologist at the trial.
Secondly, in this country we run on the fundamental basis that people are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Being charged with an offence isn’t even a presumption of guilt in English law.
