Can not go wrong with a curry on ocean road mind, few beers in the local bars around there aswell and you’ve a decent night out ahead of you, finish off with a bit night clubbing of this is a weekend fixture as I have not even been bothered to look yet

Thursday 11th 7.30pm ko.

On the 08.42 GC back home Friday morning, so it'll have to be a quick curry around 4pm-ish (if one's open then)and then the pub before the match.

how does that work with the whole can't drink in view of the pitch malarkey?

Any idea what allocation we'll be getting?

Will be interesting to see how many points are needed for this one.

Never been to South Shields, so looking forward to it. Always do 2/3 pre-season friendlies.

Any recommendations for pubs pre-match/cracking fish 'n' chip shops etc?

Aneesas all you can eat Indian buffet is where it's at although it's not really a pre-match place like.

I also generally drink down the sea front.

I reckon 800 max. The Shields lot will give a better answer though.

Not fancy Hebburn away on the 12th?

Unfortunately can't make Hebburn (I know, part-timer), need to be on the GC back Friday.

Waiting for details on Hartlepool (if we play them this pre-season) and St Mirren and that will be me to the season starts on the 3rd.

3 easy loyalty points to start with this pre-season;)

I'll probably do both + Shields and Hebburn. Hope they give out loyalty points for them all.

Apparantlý its arms width from the pitchside boards..So fine in the stands but not standing behind the advertising boards

the rule is no alcohol in view of the pitch though so surely width from the stand doesn't play a role?

having said that, you can stand on the balcony of the club house with a pint and watch can't you?

the security pulled my mate up ..he was drinking pitchside and he pointed out everyone else drinking behind him..thats when they came out with this arms width malarkey

Stands him out against half of your branch then
What branch? If you mean me personally then yes it does...I started enjoying football again four years ago..Lifes too short to be bitter as fck all weekend like I used to be

Look lads (and lasses), this is a fantastic occasion for both clubs
Sure I’m biased but this is what pre season is all about
For shields it’s means a hell of a lot and personally also
As a non league club on the verge of administration a few years ago to now be facing Sunderland first team is brilliant
Clearly it’s a massive David and Goliath type contest and you’d expect there to be a clear winner, hopefully it won’t be too embarrassing for Sunderland

Someone do a 'played for both thread' please.
Julio :D

And hopefully confidence.
This won’t happen
It’ll be nothing other than demoralising

The so called Simonside Branch. Many left Sunderland and they’ll try to come crawling back one day.

You only ever have one team.
