Confident about next season

Let’s see what we bring in first, lots of scenarios could happen before the start of the season.

We could lose McGeedy, that would be a blow.
We need a 20 goal forward, that’s not easy.
We need a quick, powerful CH who can actually pass to one of our players.
We need a quick, powerful CM, who can pass to one of our players and score the odd goal.

Most of all we need JR to change to a less defensive minded game plan.

We already have two, we just need to sort the supply out. I would still sign another top hit man, preferably somebody seriously quick.

This.

Next year will be more of the same, awful football, awful games, awful tctics, awful substitutions and way too many draws........

100 points man lol.

You simply do not know that, the owners and manager clearly know there is an issue, why would they not deal with it now the window is open and they have the money to deal with it?

I am much more confident than I was last year, cant come soon enough for me.
Like your style fella. After the rawness of last weekend I can’t wait as, despite the ending, I enjoyed last season more than many in recent memory. Have every confidence in the club that without the shenanigans of last summer we will get our targets in and smash this league.

I feel a bit better than i did leaving Wembley. Just got to accept we were absolutely shite last season and move on. We have experienced league one and know what to expect. We need to sign players we know can do a job. 2 new strikers for a start as we haven’t got any..

We've got a striker who has been the most consistent in this division over a number of years and another who got 25 in this division the season before he came to us.........As always with Sunderland, the supply lines are poor and as a result we dont create enough chances.....SKP and Quinny would struggle to score goals with our supply lines.

Not unless we change the manager. Otherwise it will be a play off lottery again and he’s already proven twice he can’t set up a team to get a result at Wembley.

Hes not f***ing interested man marra

Depends what you mean by several

Matthews and Ruiter will definitely leave. Both will need to be replaced
Oviedo will probably leave but doens't need replacing as we have Hume and James
Dunne, Sterling and Morgan will of course leave, only Dunne needs replacing really

If that is the sum total of the leavers then we probably only need 4 or 5 players (GK, RB, CB, CM & CF)

That said, I hope will will improve other areas of the team. Still not major surgery compared to previous seasons

Surely the Polish lad will move into replace Ruiter.

We have a 20 goal striker. If we can get our pedestrian midfield to get the ball anywhere near the box in a reasonably threatening position, he will score. He’s as proven as you can get as this level; fact.

We need a more physical midfield that can get us closer to the opposition’s box on a consistent basis. Football really is that simple.

Recruitment is key , we will know the best players in this league but teams will see a pay day coming with us Donald going to need to use his negotiation skills more than ever

Agree 100%.....Game plan is the key thing. Ross needs to trust his defenders to defend and not re-shape the whole team to protect the defence like he did this season. We only need to play one defensive midfielder in the side and a competent centre half to play alongside Ozturk. Oh, and for all Honeyman has great attitude and passion he is not good enough to start games, as we have better players for every role he has played.

After listening to the podcast and hearing that there will be investment I feel better about it.

Hopefully we can build on, I think we may loose the high wage earners but of that gets in 5 or 6 players to strengthen. I can live with it. As long as money is wisely spent. The board and manager are on borrowed time before the fans turn and they know it.
Same rhetoric as last year... remember the “and then some” quotes. Ended up buying absolute dog shit other than the keeper.
If we play the same style and use Cattermole and Wyke constantly it’ll be more of the same.
Manager is out of his depth mate.
