Cowie had a dig, Quinny had a dig and now this orange faced twat. Millionaires criticising working class fans, many struggling to find the money to follow the lads.

This is my problem with it mate. Talking about unsold tickets when a fair percentage will have been down to finance is poor.

So much for the "gift of football" they were more than happy to jump on the back of in December.

4 minimum if you count the shite he was coming out with about the mags. Recently the trend seems to be when the team fucks up, make sly digs at the fans to deflect.

I’m not even sure he was trying to deflect. He accepted blame and he blamed the players too. It was just bizarre that he dragged our ticket sales and noise volumes into the discussion and made it quite obvious that he was far from impressed with our fanbase. Makes you wonder what he was saying in private if that’s how vexed he was whilst interviewed

I really believe the whole interview is getting blown out of proportion mind mate. He made a silly comment - that's it. People are sore from the weekend and probably just need a break.

He did the same when we fucked up auto promotion as well. Came out and said very similar which makes me think its deflection.

You're right mate. I was highly pissed off yesterday though can understand his frustration today as it was just after the final whistle.

Just a daft thing to say from a PR bloke. This region isn't going to become richer next season and if the football and results don't improve, he'll see a fair drop in attendances across the board imo.

Everyone agrees we aren't what we used to be vocally*. Our fan base has changed massively over the years, with the biggest percentage of female season ticket holders in the top flight each year of our most recent stint. However to criticse numbers and to suggest Charlton are as big is ridiculous (don't think he's thought that one through tbh the numb fuck).

*Mind we can still muster up noise at times, Defoe described the noise against Chelsea as so loud it made him cry.

I'll be honest mate, I was really critical of the missing thousands for Pompey; but I can totally understand why we couldn't sell out on Sunday.

Sadly everyone is just pissed off and frustrated (including the owners) and its going to take a few weeks for things to go back to normal. I am more optimistic then I was leaving the ground on Sunday, but I am in desperate need for a break .

Not sure what you mean. Broadcasting it immediately minutes after the final whistle when everyone is pissed off on their way home would be much more effective in shit stirring than sitting on it a couple of days.
It's the mag media.

Methven cut the interviewer short before he finished the question. He was say Sunderland are too big of a club to be in League One. He never mention Charlton or disrespected them in anyway. Methven was the same on the podcast when asked any negative questions.

I don't think people are really bothered about him saying we were quiet. We are quiet. Not just at Wembley but at home and at the handful of aways I've been to this season. It's why this 'hangover from Trafalgar' mindset is a load of bollocks.

The comment about numbers is offensive tbh considering circumstances.

Aye, interviewer didn't even mention us. He was highlighting this season as a failure. CM couldn't take it and turned it on us instead. Bizarre.

I think football has gone that way sadly.

It's like going to a gig. If the band on stage are full of energy hitting it out of the park then the crowd response. If the band are dull and just going through emotion then the crowd will be less excited. Of course it works both ways.

On Sunday and the in the EFL trophy the set up was negative and the players were nervous. When we went 1 up we sat back and Charlton were attacking more and more. You could sense that Charlton were going to score and it affected the fans. The Chelsea was different. We were on a roll and we attacked. We went at Chelsea that day and the fans fed of the players and players of us. Hiddink said he never heard anything like it.

The saddest thing is these days football gets compared to other forms of entertainment. Once upon a time it'd be laughed at saying you're not going to the gig to give the artists an advantage. Now it pretty much is simply all about entertainment (for most).

It didn't even sound loud when we scored or the minutes that followed, including when Leadbitter went close to making it two. Mind I think for the goal most didn't know what the fuck had happened.

One daft comment

What happened in the chelsea and everton games that hasnt happened this season?

We actually had a go at them instead of sitting behind the ball waiting to be picked off.

Seriously mate. Every single person I spoke to around me and on the way out said as soon as they equalised, thry had no confidence we would get anything. Its happened far too often for it to just be nerves or bad luck
