Regarding that direct Tom Eaves question. Obviously didn't answer it but I am sure Stewart would have said he's not on our list given that they already know their targets.

In your limited opinion.

Which doesn’t count.
I agree it was not his position to comment. In reality those type of questions are for the manager.

Even then the manager should probably refrain from answering in a public forum as it could destry whatever relationship exists with the player.

How would you react if your boss was interviewed, asked about your performance and then said you were crap at your job in a public domain. I'd guess that you'd lose a lot of respect for your boss at a minimum.

Aye fair play for asking the questions they did but Charlie’s right to knock it on the head. Board can’t be criticising manager and players before they’ve even sorted it all out with the manager. At the end of the day they’re businessmen, their opinion on tactics and performances is as valid as ours. Their opinions on the state of the club as a business are much more important

I set them up...

My point is not whether he should or shouldn’t...it’s whether it’s a realistic expectation that he won’t be asked. It’s not. Also, by that same token he shouldn’t be praising individuals.

I don’t get his point at all. It’s not sensible to expect an interview with a fanzine not to focus on individual ‘employee’ performance. It’s just not.

In another business yes, maybe, but in football where performances are laid bare to the watching customers, we’re going to talk about individuals.

If he doesn’t want to talk about individuals he shouldn’t do the interviews.

Tbh I don't think the interviewer wanted great detail. More either into an insight of how we identify players the the roles we need, or a way of trying to find out if its Griggs attitude (which a lot of people think).

Personally I don't think Ross had ever seen Grigg play before he signed him, and they know that, which is why they got so up tight about it and couldn't answer as to answer would contradict what they said a minute before, or would mean blaming Grigg to cover themselves.

I think it’s perfectly fine to ask that if Ross chose a signing why was he unable to play a system that suited that player.

This was in response to the rumours that Grigg was Donald’s choice.

SD fell foul earlier in the season when he discussed individuals and Im sure that Charlie was there to stop him. ´
I have no problem with that. If you don´t have that filter in place you end up with an owner like that nutter at Peterboro

Well the context is very different and I’m not saying that he should have said someone was crap at their job, I’m saying he should have expected to be asked...and to be fair he was ok,it was Methven who got all hot and bothered.

Give them both a lot of credit for doing these interviews, in particular at a sensitive and difficult time. It wasn't skirting round edges, it was in as deep as you can really expect to go. If people actually want them to publicly slate the manager or individual players on a webcast then you are asking for the beginning of the end of the current team spirit we have finally ascertained.
Everyone has an opinion ofcourse and there will be differences, but you can't go online and destroy one of our players confidence or say something that results in an agents phone call the day after, looking for a move. He has backed the manager and made it clear about finances, and so it is now up to us to support the club or not, if that is your choice.
Let's get behind them again, it is the only way forwards.

I said earlier that loads of the questions being posed on this thread were not suitable for anyone but the manager. Appreciate the reason they may have asked them but crazy to think that the people that employ Ross (and want him to stay) are going to criticise him or the players. Imagine how that would go down motivating people or for future relationships?! A complete lack of rationale in a lot of our support. The only way we will move forward as a club is by being composed, sensible and professional. Thank fuck fans have nowt to do with running a football club!

Last year they were denying false rumours iirc.

So we still have an owner like that nutter at Peterborough but has someone stopping people from finding out?

It is one of the main concerns so I don't have issue with it. They don't have to answer it mind but there's no need to go on the way he did and talk to the lad like shite for it.

I just took it as it's someone they are looking at. To be honest he's a top scorer consistently in this league in a poor side. I think for a free transfer you have to look at him.

I've said all season I don't want him but after Wyke on Sunday I'd happily take him on a free for backup to a first choice striker at least (with Wyke peddled).

It was clear Charlie was rattled by this. Fair play to the interviewers saying 'I've got to ask the question'. Really enjoyed the way they deliverd the questions. Connor was too nice an interviewer. These lads were really direct and didn't back down.

What annoyed me was him saying he could have done more on Maja when on Twitter he couldn’t wait to say how he’d basically bent over backwards to accommodate them and that it was Maja and his agent who were acting up. It’s especially galling when Ross says that Maja had told him personally he wanted to stay so I don’t think it would have taken too much effort to keep him.
I think that was more him being self critical tbh. He did say he doesn’t think he would have stayed anyway but I guess given we spent a lot on his replacement maybe he feels he should have thrown more cash at him.
