That's why it felt like such a kick in the teeth when they scored.

We did until the last five then we just sat off them and just pulled them down everytime the ball went near them. We then just allowed them to pass it about, have a free cross and a free header totally unchallenged. They deserved to lose with 6 seconds to go.

They looked nervous when we pushed on, the feee kick for the goal was poor defending from when it was given, stood off them allowing a short free kick and they had time to do what the fuck they wanted. It was a common theme throughout the game.

Fan base , history , seasons in the top flight , honours etc
Sorry but we’ve won 1 cup since the war. Trophies won in the 1800s mean fuck all now.
Since the 50s we’ve been up and down like a shit house seat and have managed to finish in top half of top flight 3 times in the last 60 year.

Just for future reference, how far are we allowed to go back in history?

Surely the clubs history goes back to when it was formed?

Our final ball was horrendous though, Charlton dealt with it easily

Some are being a bit overly sensitive. Perhaps as a collective group, we didn’t believe we would win and that came across both on and off the pitch

I thought the last ten minutes we looked stronger and if there was going to be any last minute winner, it would be us but!...the same old thing came back to bite us yet again, the cross to the back post and the knock back for people coming in..Its been there all season and appears nothing has been done to address this weakness of cutting out the cross into the box.....Its been a priority for me these past four season but nothing ever seems to get done about it from any manager.
Agree, thought we where starting to edge it then our defending let us down

Our record on all counts over whatever period is superior to Charlton’s as we are by any measurement

I’d say go back to post war. No fucker is even alive from before that man.
As I said since the 50s we have finished in the top half of top flight a whopping 3 times.
After next season we’ll have had as many seasons in the 3rd tier as that

Bit of a silly time to give an interview for me. Just after defeat at Wembley with feelings and tensions running high. He seems like a football fan and a fan of the club and this interview seems very much like an angry rambling rant following a defeat. His slick PR persona had left him and emotion ran away with him. I think he was right that the fans were quiet and that we just weren't good enough on the pitch. Hes also right that we failed but I have no idea what his point was about Charlton having more fans than us was. Strange interview
Of course they had more fans. They were a tube ride away-it cost us a tube ride PLUS £60-£80 train ride. I only made the play off final but many made it twice in a few weeks.

Everybody else since they were formed. Our successes in the early years don’t count

As long as I know the rules regarding history, I’d hate to think I got our history wrong.

Strange isn’t it?

Agreed. He's been well backed.
The worst thing is he's clearly not a thick bloke. He comes across well and is articulate. Amazes me hasn't learned from his mistakes.

I was thinking this actually , as probably 100's of others.
But to actually impliment the negative tactics continually is strange
To not start mcgeady in the most important game for decades was mind boggling
