Thought the atmosphere was better at the Checkatrade, was flat yesterday

Both were flat but at least we got to sit next to people we like/wanted to sit with yesterday and not a load of pissed up strangers looking for aggro like the Checkatrade. Never seen so many wankers in our fan base before.

This..if people think the footballing world have their eyes on us they need to give their heads a shake. We're a league 1 club with big support that's it..the quicker we all accept that (which includes the club and players) the quicker we can move forward..

Had a couple of canny, conciliatory texts from Leeds, West Ham, even a mag. We certainly don’t incite any particularly strong feelings either way these days.

I would never ever criticise fans for watching on the tele.
This is EXACTLY what I’ll be doing in future.
My time has come to step down. Hopefully this is knee jerk reaction.

My thoughts are as a whole?

After the game with thousands streaming out, there was no anger.
Few young kids crying but no anger?

This is what this club has done to us.

I was at the bottom of block 111. Plenty of anger there full on fist fight between a couple of lads, one other fella who didnt look the type kicking loads of seats. Then went to the toilet on the way out heated pro/anti Ross arguments in there. Was relieved to get my boy out of there

What about the 24,000 Charlton fans who turned up yesterday who don't even go to their home games - have they all been practising at home?
You're right, it's all about what is happening on the pitch.
Bloody hell, the charlton end sang allez allez 3 times. It's not like they were going mental all Match.
They did a Icelandic hand clap once too.

Wonder if Villa or Derby fans ‘took Trafalgar ‘ last night
Whats the point in barbed comments like this.
TS is ace. The kids love it.
My son had a great weekend, which wouldn't have been the case if we just went for the match.

To me there wasn't much expectation before the game TBH.

Club should have organised singing sections behind the goals, other clubs do it.

Atmosphere was alright in 108 towards the back.
Needs to be done next time, whenever that may be.
A controversial opinion maybe but I thought their drum worked well too. It wasnt none stop banging but sounded good when used.

I posted something similar earlier this morning.
Usually after a defeat or a shit performance from the team, there is usually very animated discussion/debate from fans leaving the ground, (myself and my mates included) yet I didn't hear any dissenting or angry voices on leaving the ground yesterday.
No recriminations, no anger, no knee jerk reactions, more like an acceptance that this is the way things usually turn out for us at Wembley.
Everyone just seemed totally numbed by having witnessed another shitshow on the pitch and another loss at Wembley.

Far too many people use the excuse of the players not providing excitement or the match being shite as an excuse for the atmosphere being poor. That’s not what support is about. A small group of us tried our best to get it going even at 1-0 and most of the folk around us just looked at us like we were aliens.
The fans of course aren’t to blame but the atmosphere was poor and has been at the SoL for years. If it’s ever going to change we need a huge switch in attitude. Support your club no matter what. Unfortunately I think it’s a cultural problem and it’ll never change.

Support has been shite for a while now. I remember the 0-4 at home to villa where half the crowd left before half time. At that point the issue became undeniable. It’s been a problem for a while.

20 years ago all the under 30s would get the singing going, but this generation are used to sitting in a red plastic seat at the SoL and whinging. No surprise they do the same at Wembley. They’ve never known anything else really.

I don’t think it will ever improve. The passion has gone.
The under 30's 20 years ago are the one's now sitting but that's not of their doing, just society's way of changing the standing culture.
