First goal was offside. Not when the ball was played in but about three seconds before there were two players, (including the scorer), who were offside. Flag should have been up, there and then.

Their player is climbing all over Oviedo and he is not able to jump allowing the Second Charlton player a clear vision of the flight of the ball to get his head on it. The move started with a free kick against Ozturk for putting arms on their player and any consistency would have resulted in a free kick to Oviedo.

Oviedo was furious .

I dont buy the argument we were just not good enough on the day, as both teams were nervous and we edged, possession, shots, corners and shots on target. We did not deserve to lose that game.

It felt like they got more decisions the more the game went on . It felt like most times we committed a foul we got a card second half. A couple of times he waved advantage then we immediately lost it and didn’t blow up.

It shouldn’t have been a free kick in the first place, but referee aside we never did enough to deserve to win.

This. Ref was crap but so were we from an attacking perspective.

The ref was absolutely shocking - I expect he was in the Charlton dressing room afterwards leading their celebrations.

In the 2nd half every one of our mistimed tackles got a yellow card whereas they got away with several tackles from behind and that GBH attack on O'Nien (the corrupt bugger gave that as a drop ball!!).

Always happens that. Where your big player isn't fit but he's thrown on anyways as it's the final. Never quite works.
