‘The real story of the takeover’

Like everything the truth will be in the middle. Let's be honest Donald is a wealthy man but not wealthy enough to run a big club like us. You'd need people that have £100m+ to run a club this size not someone who is only worth £8.4m. Football is full of spoofers, baboons, bullshitters and charlatans. I don't see why Stewart Donald & Charlie Methven would be any different. They haven't broken any rules. It might be immoral if they plan to sell the club and make a profit but that's the shitty world of Capitalism. And why would 2 Thatcherite businessmen be the people to break the wheel?

TBH, they have done some good work here and I wouldn't begrudge them making a hefty profit from us. But I've never really taken to them, not to the level some of our fans have. In reality they haven't done anything. It's not like they have a connection like Quinny had with us or Gibson has with Middlesbrough and they haven't turned us into a mega club like Man City.

having a pint etc isnt nescessarily fake-its about the fact they bough the club to enjoy all aspects of it..but i dont understand the concept of "under the skin" its a cliche i dont really get..im not saying its not possible...but stewrat is a man with a young family.other business interests and a life..if safc comes first then he is wrong.
It won't be coming first. His interest in SAFC comes in making a profit on his investment. And he knew he needed to get fans back onside with the club and these are some of his tactics. Fair play to him they have I believe been largely successful.

But it's all for his investment not for the supporters. Don't ever think he's doing it for any other reason than profit. He's not. I get that. Many don't and think he's now 'one of us'.

Whatever has happened it would have been better if a consortium of fans had been approached to take over the club imo. Would rather the club was run by the fans for the benefit of fans. If that means we became a run of the mill Championship side then so be it. Apart from the Quinn/Phillips period and a short time with Bent/Jones the time in the PL was mainly a grind.
We argue about who should start at centre half man .... imagine us running the club.:lol:

Sweet Jesus, I though I'd heard it all, they've only been here one season

They were very, very careful in podcasts to give enough away to make themselves sound fully transparent but were never really pushed on specifics of the deal and never properly clarified situations.

Plenty will dismiss the article based upon some paranoia of an anti-Sunderland agenda but there are some fairly decent sports journalists worked on that piece and it should it be taken seriously.
I like the idea of them doing podcasts with the likes of Roker Report and WMS but why don't they do interviews with the national media?

charlie has done hasnt he...though the fact this mail article has come out and lied badly about him....and the sun lied about stewart so badly he sued and won..im not surprised if he is wary..

of course he isnt doing it for any other reason that profit-SAFC isnt a f***ing charity and shouldnt be run as well.
wuinny came to make a profit and did...ellis came to make a profit and didnt...every owner wants a profit..football clubs are businesses not charities..even more so in the modern era..

its a huge amount in terms of a league one club-which is what they bought-its a huge amount in terms of a business that has lost so much there wont ever be dividends..and they havent gone anywhere yet..
How many league 1 clubs would be sold for 50 million?

They haven't got money to put in 50/100 million for no return.
Why would we want that? That's what ES did.
They hopefully have the enthusiasm and know how to build our turnover up and for us to run self sufficient and be able to compete higher up the leagues.

Most clubs live in their means. If he was worth 200 Million it wouldn't really matter. We're unlikely to get someone who wants to give us millions of their own money to spend on players.

stewrat isnt worth £8.4m-he had to show he had £50m to be allowed buy the club..the £8.4m was a figure from a journalist who doesnt undertsand business. the figur of £8m is a complete lie.

they didnt put in five million its much more than that-the para money wasnt used to buy the club it was used to pay sbc corporation-they arent selling-and if they sold for £50m there is another shaholder who would like a few quid-juan sartoi-who the mail despute their "research" dont seem to be aware of.
stewart had to show he has £50m in readies..are you saying thats not loaded?

I'm saying some said they were not loaded enough to run a football club, they clearly aren't
