Game of Thrones season 8

Are Cersei and Jaime definitely dead
Dead as fuck. Benioff said so in the Inside the Episode thing.

f***ing class that episode a return to got of the old, hated the night kind episode to but this made up for it.

People complaining did you really want a happily every after ending? That would have ruined the whole show.

Bless.

It really could not have been further from the 'GOT of old'.

A fairly underwhelming ending for them both then. Having said that I never bought the "Jaime's going to kill her" theory - why would he do that? It's been obvious from the start that he'll love her til the end and that's how it transpired.

I actually enjoyed the episode overall, I have no problem with Dany going mental either - it was rushed but makes sense IMO. My main issue is how thick they've made some of the more intelligent characters. They clearly haven't had a clue what to do with Varys and Littlefinger since they departed from the books, I wouldn't be surprised at all if at least one, if not both, of those two survive til the end in the books.

Also, couldn't the Iron Fleet not have hidden behind some rocks again in this episode? :) Just sat there in the open waiting to get firebombed ffs.

So are we expecting diplomacy or a battle royale situation to sort it next week?

Dany dead (Sansa will see to that) and Jon Sner on the throne I reckon. Only question I have is who ends up killing Dany (not Arya again surely?) and what happens with her dragon.

That's just a guess btw. Can anyone who's seen leaked spoilers from next week please just fuck off.

Some people seem really upset that we aren't getting John and Daenerys as king and queen with Tyrion as the hand:rolleyes:.
I think most people assumed Daenerys wouldn’t end up on the throne. Most people assumed she’d be killed, most likely by Jon, sacrificed for the greater good or because she’d gone mad.

The way they did was crap in my opinion. Cared more about toasting peasants than getting to the person who’d fucked her off. Completely out of character and she’s ended up as a bigger villain than Cersei who got to die off screen in the arms of her lover. Shite.

Hardly any tv series in the history of f***ing television has pleased everyone. I actually thought this episode was class. I can't really be arsed moaning about plot holes etc and ill just take it for what it is.
Of course it isn't perfect.. It was never going to be, but that's what happens when you create a worldwide fan base of millions of people.

The 'breaker of chains' image of Danerys was mainly an act. She wanted as many as possible on her side and she needed her propaganda to paint her as the rightful monarch. She started with nothing. She was implicit in the killing of her brother, the actual heir at the start, because she wanted the throne to herself.

Think back to Khal Drogo's speech in Series 1 when they'd captured the guy who had tried to poison Dany. He rants that they'll sail over to Westeros, burn everything down, rape all the women and sell their kids to slaves. She just stands there looking completely empowered. That was her real coming of age moment.

I agree that the last series has felt rushed but I disagree with people saying her character has been nonsensically altered. It hasn't.
Yeah, the argument should be that her character arc has been rushed, not that it has went against her character.

It’s been fairly obvious since season 2 what she will become.]

If you like big explosions at the sacrifice of the entire plot then aye it was great. The best way I can describe it is it was like a Michael Bay episode of Game of Thrones.

True that,

Season 1: Burns Mirri Maz Duur
Season 2: Burns house of the undying
Season 3: Burns Astapor
Season 4: Crucifies the masters of Meereen
Season 5: Burns Meerenise noblemen
Season 6: Burns Vaes Dothrak
Season 7: Burns the train of wagons
Season 8: Burns king's landing

House Targaryen Motto: Fire and Blood.

"Half the Targaryens went mad, didn't they? What's the saying? 'Every time a Targaryen is born the gods flip a coin.'"

Her parents are brother and sister.

Aye but none of those were innocent civilians, peasants and children. They were all enemies.

She sacrificed her husband to stop the rape of slaves. She chained up her dragons cos one of them killed one little girl.

Jon’s killed mutineers, wildlings, members of the nights watch. He’s not keen on stabbing women and bairns.

Aye but that was before she went fully mental.
